About

True Friends Never Leave You

On my ninth birthday, my friend Sarah called me up and told me about a website called Subeta. intrigued, I signed up and found myself amazed by everything going on. It was the first community I was a part of, and so many people welcomed me and became my friends. They were much older than I was, so I felt very lucky to have exposure to people older than I, because in the real world, no one paid me much attention.

One day, I met a girl who went by the name Morticia. Little did I know, she would become my best friend and guide me through a lot of hard times in my life to come. She was wonderful, and I always looked up to her. When I was twelve, she was somewhere around twenty, but we communicated on a level where age did not matter, and we were just two good friends. Morticia really inspired me to become a better person. Because of her, I'm a lot friendlier and grateful for everything I have.

On the site, you used to be able to buy an expensive item and change your username. Growing tired of mine, I looked up dozens of names to see which were available. My favorite two were the usernames "Saturday" and "July" I asked Moriticia for her advice, and she suggested SaturdayofJuly. I wasn't a huge fan of the long name, but it stayed in my mind, even after I eventually decided on July (which to this day is what many people still call me; not only on the internet, but in real life as well)

Many years later, I was inspired by another person on Youtube named Sarah (SarahLynnTea) to make an Etsy account. I'd never heard of it, but was really looking for a platform to sell my jewelry and charms. I spent weeks thinking of a name for my shop.

And then I realized. SaturdayofJuly. It had been a while since I talked to Morticia, due to my inactivity on Subeta, and it was breaking my heart. I knew we weren't as close as we used to be, but she still inspired me all those years later. And so, in her honor, I named my shop SaturdayofJuly.

She will always be there for me and continue to guide me through life, even if she's not here. She was my first online friend, and I will always thank her for that.

Thank you, Morticia.
