About

Every piece tells its journey, every owner shares the story.

I was in Africa, working as a photographer shooting women in their tribal finery, when a woman approached me to ask for money so she could return to Ethiopea. I gave her a lot of money, and she gave me a bag of old silver. I kept most of it, and sold some, but this began my love of ethnic and tribal jewelry. I opened my first retail shop in 2004, in Sydney, where I wold old beads and silver bits and pieces, as well as the more readily available commercial beads. These didn't hold my attention for too long, so I starts specialising in dealing only with old beads and silver.

I travel regularly to my trusted dealers in India, Turkey, Venice and north and South Africa, who supply me with hard to get and rare beads. I have a significant selection and collection of rare and old trade beads and silver beads, as well as very old cultural tribal and ethnic Jewelry. I make custom designs and individual pieces from my collection and never EVER replicate a design. My pieces are in collections of my clients worldwide.

I no longer have a retail gallery. Instead I work from my home studio atop a mountain, where the fog and mist are my inspiration, and when I create a piece, I never know the nd result as its like throwing the bones .. Some beads just won't be next to another. Every piece is a surprise.

I take ages to complete a creation as I must be sure it is stable, comfortable, and durable. I have a magnificent husband who deals with my web related tantrums by making me a cup of tea and fixing anything technological.

I've been a passionate old bead and silver collector for almost 20 years. I had galleries in Sydney, Adornments Gallery and Mayagems, where I sold old beads and made bespoke jewelery from old components. I now work from my home studio.
