Announcement   At Savvie Studio, we celebrate life, nature, and the spaces that we share with those we love. We aim to create goods that spread happiness and boost confidence through modern, energy-filled designs.

Savvie Studio is the work of Savannah Kurka, an artist and maker who is based out of Denton, Texas. Savannah fell in love with the process of laser cutting while attending the University of North Texas for Visual Art Studies. During her senior year of college, Savannah decided to take a leap of faith and invest in her first laser cutter. She sold her bedroom furniture to make room and turned her small apartment bedroom into a full blown laser cutting studio. Every spare second between classes and work was spent experimenting, creating, and dreaming of what Savvie Studio could be.

Savvie Studio has greatly evolved since the early days of laser cutting from a college apartment, however, Savannah still designs, laser cuts, and assembles all of her products in house. Every step from idea to final packaging happens from her Denton, Texas based studio. In a world of mass produced goods Savannah finds great joy in making the artist's hand evident in every piece; and finds hope in the community that handmade goods create.

About

Creating goods for happier, healthier homes.

I was born to two entrepreneurs, an engineer + wood worker and a creative lady. Needless to say, I found my love for the smell of saw dust, and working with my hands at a young age. In my final studio studies at the University of North Texas, I discovered the process of laser cutting and have not been able to stop exploring the possibilities since.

Inspiration is found in everyday interactions and my natural surroundings continually inspire exploration of color, pattern and texture. Much of my process marries old and new techniques of making. Every step, from laser cutting to marbling by hand, is done in my home studio. In a world of mass produced goods I take great joy in making the artist's hand evident in every piece; and find hope in the community that handmade goods create.

  • Savannah

    Owner, Designer, Maker

Hi! I'm Savannah, the owner and designer of Savvie Studio. I am continually finding new ways to bring nature indoors, and exploring new ways of making. When I'm not in the studio, I am often gardening, or trying out a new salsa recipe.

  • Sarah

    Assistant

Sarah is my insanely helpful studio assistant. She lends a hand with production, shipping, and keeping the studio organized! When she isn't in the studio, she is checking out a new coffee spot, sewing, or planning her next travels.

  • Greg

    Assistant

Greg lends a hand with managing wholesale accounts, keeping inventory organized, and making sure packages make it to the post office in time. When Greg's not in the studio, he is often found behind the keys of a piano, or playing with his two dogs.
