About

Beautiful Crochet Lace Accessories for Steampunk, Victorian, Costume and Gothic Wear

I have been crocheting and knitting since I first learned when I was around 7 years old, so you might say it has nearly always been a part of my life on some level.

A few years ago I realized I preferred crochet above all, and even more so preferred to work with fine threads and make lace things. Out of that passion I began to design and make my wrist cuffs and chokers, and found that they appealed to many in the Goth, Steampunk, Costuming and Victorian communities.

I also dabble a little bit with jewelry, creating Steampunk brooches and pins. There are Floral hair bits and bobs for anyone to enjoy, and even on occasion do a bit of pen and ink drawings--you will see my cards in the shop now and again!

And so the idea for an Etsy shop was born---I created some pieces, opened my shop here in April of 2011, and have been offering pretty pieces worldwide ever since. I also do several shows a year in the Greater Seattle area, and sell my items in three shops: a creative costume and gaming shop called "Otherworlds" in Edmonds, just north of Seattle, a beautiful artist's collective shop called "The Mad Hatter" in Historic Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula, and an eclectic fun shop called "The New York Exchange" on Capital Hill in Seattle .

I am always open to custom work, be it something in a different color, size or yarn to something new we create together....feel free to contact me and we can create something beautiful for you.

Why Scarletrabbit? I love the color red, and I collect rabbit things....so it just made sense!

Please do come into my shop and visit with me, and while you are here take a look about---you might find something lovely for a gift or for yourself....so welcome, welcome to Scarletrabbit!

Thank you for visiting my shop! Enjoy the visit, stay awhile, and if something strikes your fancy I will be honored if you purchase it and give it a new lovely home. My things are made to be worn, treasured, gifted and displayed.

All items are made in a smoke free but not pet free home (I do have cats!)

Each item is made by hand, so very small differences may occur if you purchase multiples of the same item. Also, many of my buttons are vintage and thrift store finds so may be one of a kind. I take great care to give you a quality product.

If the item you want has been sold, contact me about making one for you, or watch the shop as I restock regularly. If you have a specific color you would like, I have many other colors available, and can send you a swatch at no cost. With the wrist cuff double edging pair sets, contact me if you would like a set in a different color scheme or combination.

If you would like a larger size email me, there is no additional charge for larger sizes.

All of my original designs, such as the double edging wristcuffs, are handmade, designed and copyright to me, Scarletrabbit.
