Hello! We are Melanie Casey & team. Our studio is north of Boston, MA, where we spend hours consulting with clients online, brainstorming and designing, and building original and custom designs piece by piece. We are also lucky enough to have support from our mascot Betty, our ever-growing Bernese Mountain Dog.

Melanie's antique-inspired fine jewelry designs are created using precious and semi-precious gemstones, diamonds, and solid 14k gold. Our line features skillfully crafted one-of-a-kind statement pieces, custom fine jewelry tailor-made specifically for you, and signature staple pieces essential for your jewelry box.

Made today to become precious heirlooms for future generations, Melanie Casey’s artisan pieces are designed with precision and care for detail, ensuring a quality that will endure through time. We take pride in our work, and we care about establishing and maintaining a positive work relationship with you.

Hello, and welcome!

We are Melanie Casey & team, located in North Andover, MA (about 30 minutes north of Boston). We will be opening our new, appointment-based showroom in late 2016. Please contact us to be added to our address book if you would like to know when we are open for appointments!

We hand-craft our delicate 14k gold jewelry with ethically-sourced precious and semi-precious gemstones and recycled gold. We specialize in heirloom wedding bands, engagement rings, and statement pieces as well as everyday stacking rings, stud earrings, cuff bracelets and necklaces.

Custom Designs

Custom designs are openly welcomed! Contact us to begin creating a custom design today! Some restrictions apply.

♦ After a final design is agreed upon, full payment is required before production can begin. Often, a deposit may be required if we need to custom-source a stone for you, or if you require design approval through photos/videos. This deposit will go toward the final total of your order.

♦ Custom designs are *final sale* and cannot be returned (see Returns section for more information on final sale items).

If you would like to pay for your jewelry in installments instead of all at once, we can set up a layaway plan for you! Please contact us directly if you would like to set up a layaway plan.

Reserved Listings

If you are hoping to purchase a one-of-a-kind piece but are not yet ready to pay for the piece in full, we can reserve it for you!

♦ A 10% *non-refundable* deposit is required to reserve a listing. The piece must be paid for in full within one calendar year of the deposit payment date.

♦ Reserved listings will reopen to the public if no payment has been made within one calendar year of the deposit payment date.

♦ Full payment is required before items are shipped.
Shipping
♦ Shipping is a flat rate charge, regardless of the number of items in your order.

♦ You are responsible for providing us with an accurate, reliable, and safe mailing address.

Rush Orders (U.S. Orders Only)

♦ Please contact us before ordering if you are in a rush to receive your jewelry, and please specify your deadline. We will be in touch to let you know if we can meet your deadline.

♦ If we are able to accommodate your timeline, we can accept your order as a "RUSH". This will make your order a top priority, on schedule to be finished and shipped before our regular estimated production time. Please note that a rush fee will be charged for this expedited service, and it will be recommended that you opt for the fastest shipping method offered to best ensure your order reaches you in time.

♦ At this time, we cannot offer rush service to any country outside of the U.S.

Domestic Shipping (to clients within the U.S.)

♦ Most often your order will be shipped using USPS, which will include a tracking number provided through Etsy. We offer USPS First Class, Priority, and Priority Express options for our domestic clients.

♦ An adult signature may be required at the time of delivery.

♦ In special cases we use UPS or FedEx for shipment, with full insurance, tracking, and an adult (21+) signature required upon delivery.

International Shipping (to clients outside of the U.S.)

♦ Your order will be shipped using USPS, which will include a tracking number provided through Etsy. Please note that tracking may only show progress as your package moves through the U.S. Postal System - once your package leaves the U.S., the tracking number may stop updating. Your country's postal system will take over from there, and will be responsible for safe delivery of your package.

♦ International orders with a value below $450 will ship with USPS First Class Mail, and will include insurance. These packages can take up to five weeks for delivery due to the amount of time that your package takes to process through your country's customs office.

♦ International orders with a value over $450 will be sent with USPS Priority Mail, and will include insurance. These shipments typically take between 2-3 weeks for delivery, depending on how long it takes for your country's customs office to process the package.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - IMPORTANT NOTE - Additional fees may apply.

To all international buyers:

Your country's customs office may require you to pay a VAT/import fee before they deliver your package. We are not aware of the laws from one country to the next, and we will not be responsible for those fees. Contact your customs office directly if you have specific questions about these fees. If you refuse to pay for the fees associated with your shipment, the package will be returned to our studio in the U.S. by default. If this occurs, we will attempt to contact you in case there was an error. However, if we cannot reach you or if you have changed your mind, we will refund your order MINUS the 15% restocking fee and shipping charge (please see our Returns section for more information).

♦ Some countries/regions that our clients have reported to require VAT fees: UK, Greece, Israel, Canada, Spain, Chile (this is a growing list, so please contact your country's customs office directly if you are concerned about facing import fees)

Lost Packages

Always contact us immediately in the event that your package is lost in transit. Insurance coverage is time-sensitive, so no time should be wasted if you have not received your package within the predicted window of time.

♦ Domestic lost packages (within the U.S.):
Any orders that USPS/UPS/FedEx marked as "delivered" and are subsequently lost or stolen before reaching the customer will require a *replacement fee* to remake the order. Please first contact your local postal carrier in the event that your package is marked as "delivered" through USPS/UPS/FedEx but is not in your possession, as packages may require *signature confirmation*. Contact us if you are still not able to locate your package.

♦ International lost packages (outside the U.S.):
For lost parcels, we must wait 45 days (from the date the package was shipped) to file an insurance claim for international locations, as the package may still be processing through international customs. Please attempt to contact your customs office to check on the status of your package - it is possible it is there, awaiting your payment of VAT/import fees. Claims must be filed no later than 90 days from the shipment date. If the package is in fact lost or stolen and the client did not declare the package missing within 90 days, a refund *cannot* be issued to the customer. If the customer wishes to replace the missing order, a *replacement fee* will be charged to the customer.
Refunds and Exchanges
Returns:

Many of our items have customized return policies, that are more strict than what is listed below. Please read your individual product listing carefully before ordering! If no return policy is specified, these guidelines will apply.

Please contact us with any questions prior to purchasing to avoid returns.

♦ All returns must be in new, unworn condition.

♦ Shipping fees cannot be refunded for returns.

♦ A 15% restocking fee will be applied on all returns (excluding sale and custom items, which are final sale).

♦ Some items will incur a 30% restocking fee, if returned. Refer to the individual listing description to find out if this will apply.

Resizing / Exchanges / Upgrades

Please contact us with any questions about sizing/resizing or band width options to avoid resizing/exchanges.

♦ We strongly advise our clients to accurately determine their ring size(s) prior to ordering. Not all jewelers use exactly the same sizing scale, so please contact us to request a complimentary plastic ring sizer to find your general measurement. ♦ Our ring resizing service is free to our clients in most cases.

♦ We do require a 25% fee for all eternity band resize requests, as this requires us to remake the ring entirely. To avoid this, please use our Perfect Fit Sizing System, as recommended.

♦ If you require a resize or exchange, please note that you will be responsible for all shipping costs to and from our studio.

♦ If you would prefer to exchange your piece (i.e. thicker ring band, or switch to a different piece of jewelry entirely), you will be able to apply the full value of your purchase to the new piece, less shipping. Your new exchange piece will not be shipped out to you until we have received back the original piece you ordered. You will be responsible for shipping costs for your new, exchanged item.

♦ We cannot resize any pieces that are made in platinum. Platinum pieces are *final sale* and cannot be returned.

Custom and personalized orders

Yes, we accept custom requests!

Contact us directly with your design idea and we'll try to get back to you within a few business days. We will work with you to narrow down your design, and can provide photo and video of our gems and potential layouts for your custom design.

A deposit may be required, especially if we will need to special order stones for your custom piece. Your deposit will go toward the total cost of your jewelry. Once your design has been approved and finalized, production will begin once payment has been received in full.

Production typically takes 3-4 weeks before shipment.

Sizing details

Sizing can vary a bit from one jeweler to the next, so even if you have been sized somewhere else before, we highly recommend using our sizing tools for proper measurement for our jewelry.

Contact us directly to receive a complimentary plastic US sizer, and we'll get one in the mail within a few business days of hearing from you!

We also highly recommend our Perfect Fit sizing system for the most accurate fit. Our Perfect Fit sizers are ideal for everyone! Especially recommended for anyone with fingers that are typically tricky to size, anyone looking to order an eternity style band or large set of rings (4 or more), and international clients.

Care instructions

We offer cleaning, resizing, refinishing, and repair services for the lifetime of your jewelry - just reach out to us!

Here are some helpful tips to keep your jewelry in top shape:

- To prevent residue buildup with wear, you can clean your jewelry regularly at home with warm water, gentle soap, and a soft toothbrush.

- To maintain the integrity of your jewelry, remove your jewelry before showering, using cleaning chemicals, applying makeup and lotions, swimming, and exercising. Exposure to any harsh chemicals or heavy pressure will put your jewelry at risk.

- Store your jewelry in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Your jewelry will come in our complimentary gift packaging. We are also able to add custom gift messages if you like!

Layaway Payment Plans

We are excited to be able to offer layaway as an option to our clients! It's easy, affordable, and you are in control of your payments.

With layaway, you will be able to pay for your jewelry incrementally over time, and at your own pace.

All deposits and partial payments are non-refundable, and jewelry purchased through this program is final sale.

Shipping & Delivery

Domestic clients (in the U.S.) - Depending on the value of your order, your package may ship USPS First Class, Priority, Express or through UPS or FedEx. You will be provided with a tracking number for your package.

Please note - An adult (21+) signature may be required at the time of delivery.

International Clients (outside the U.S.) - Depending on the value of your order, your package will either ship USPS First Class, or through UPS or FedEx. Your package will be fully insured, and tracking will be provided. Please note that USPS tracking may not be consistent after your package leaves the U.S.

Please note - Your country's government may require import/VAT fees before your package can be released by customs.

Exchanges & Returns

We do accept returns unless your piece was indicated as a *final sale* item either in the listing description or through our consultation.

Returns and exchanges are accepted up to 30 days after you've received your jewelry.
