Fun & vibrant, thanks!
What good can come from a severe knee injury?
A business! When I had my knee injury in the fall 2008 it left me on and off crutches for a year. During the summer of 2009 I took a jewelry making class and fell hook, line, and sinker for the art of designing jewelry. I had plenty of time to work on perfecting my craft since I didn't have surgery until the fall of 2009. I was completely healed in about 3 months.
Shortly after I was released for my knee I fell down and broke my wrist. I took a short break (no pun intended) from jewelry, but I jumped back in when I created a jewelry set for a craft fair. I have entered three craft fairs with my jewelry since this journey began.
Picking my name came after a long period of throwing different names about. Nothing sounded right with what I was creating or my personality. One day I walked to my work station and said to myself, " Everything is scattered all over the place!". From that came the name Scattered Designs.
In 2011 my family moved, and I was able to start taking metalsmithing classes taught by a young woman in the area. I took classes for about a year, and then continued metalsmithing completely self taught for about 4 years.
I'm currently a full-time student at the University of North Texas were I am working on double Major in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design and Art History, along with a minor in German.

I am a born and raised Texas girl who enjoys reading, sleeping in, and calling hammers cute. I absolutely love making jewelry, and I have an unhealthy obsession with all things metalsmithing.
