Pottery Enchantment
Jag växte upp med att åka till Smokey Mountains på familjesemestrar och var fascinerad av hantverkarna och kvinnorna som kunde skapa så underbara saker med sina händer.
Jag började kasta keramik när jag var student på universitetet. Jag arbetade både i skolans ateljé och tillbringade en sommar med att arbeta under en fantastisk mentor vid foten av Smokey Mountains. Efter universitetet gav jag mig ut i den stora världen och hittade ett bra jobb och torkade mina händer ett tag från leran. Nyligen tog jag vid där jag slutade och jag har hittat en ny kärlek till hantverket och utövar det på deltid. En dag hoppas jag kunna göra keramik till en större del av mitt liv, men fram till dess har jag turen att ha möjlighet att utforska och utveckla min talang.
I grew up going to the Smokey Mountains on family vacations and was fascinated with the craftsmen & women that could create such wonderful things with their hands.
I started throwing pottery when I was a student in college. I worked both in the school’s studio and spent a summer working under a great mentor of mine in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains. After college I joined the big world and found myself a nice job and dried my hands for a while from the clay. Recently, I picked up where I left off and I have found a new love for the craft and practice it part time. One day I hope to make pottery a larger piece of my life, but until then I am fortunate to have the opportunity to explore and grow my talent.
