About

The Faery Tailor

I have always been fascinated by clothing and costumes - I practiced lots of crafts between jobs, and realised that I didn't want to work for anyone else ever again! I booked a stall on an artisans market before I even had enough stock to cover a table!

I like truly one of a kind clothes, so I began adapting clothes I found in charity shops, painting mushrooms and toadstools on tee-shirts and cutting assymetrical hems onto skirts

It wasn't long before I was cutting my own patterns and creating my own designs :-)

Scrapunzel was my other halves name for me because of my love of fairy tales and my obsession with sewing every last scrap of fabric - It just seemed the logical choice

    I adore faery tales, myths and magic. I create real life fairy tales for people from scraps and patches of recycled and new fabricsMy speciality is eco-friendly, handmade clothing reconstructed and re-imagined from recycled materials.

Hello!
Recycled fabrics are wonderful to work with and as eco-friendly as you can get but (there's always a but, isn't there?) sometimes pre-loved fabrics have a little wear and tear. I'm always as careful as can be when selecting fabrics but sometimes, well, you just have to be a little forgiving. Remember that your one of a kind Scrapunzel garment is a looooong way from soul-less mass-production and, just like you, completely unique :)

Accepted payment methods

  • Check
Payment
Paypal's my fave - quick, easy, secure. If you don't have Paypal but there's something here you just HAVE to have, convo me. We can work something out :)
Shipping
I ship pretty much everywhere and it's all tracked. Shipping prices may look a little *EEEEK!* on first glance but there's a whole lotta love goes into each and every Scrapunzel garment and I'd be as devastated as you if they went AWOL whilst winging their way to their new homes! So I use tracked shipping, both within and outside the UK. It does cost a little extra but it's a whole heap better than your Scrapunzel garment being dug out of the 'Lost and Found Lucky Dip' at the post office ;)

Items are shipped to you in 1-3 working days.
Refunds and Exchanges
Hmm, the bit where I have to sound like a 'normal' shop. Big corps have terms and conditions for a reason, and so do the little folk like me.
Refunds must be agreed by me first - please don't assume and just send stuff!

Doesn't fit? I'll refund the cost of the garment but the postage costs are your responsibility. Please contact me within 2 days of receiving your garment if you'd like to return it. And it kinda goes without saying that anything that's been washed or worn (or both!) will not be accepted, but I have to say it just so we're all in the loop :)
Disappointed? I want you to love your Scrapunzel garment as much as I've loved making it (and I really, really do love making 'em!) so again, I'll refund the cost of the garment minus the postage if you let me know straight away! :)
Additional policies and FAQs
I also accept payment by installments on my higher priced items....

My layaway terms are... *deep breath* ....

Basics
=====

~30% down - non-refundable to hold the item.
~Once the item is completely paid for, it will be shipped.
~There is a 5% additional charge for layaways.

Payment
======
~I will bill you via Paypal for the payments
in the increments you decide
~You are always able to make a bigger payment than is
scheduled, just convo me to let me know what size payment
you'd like to make, before your next scheduled payment.
~Early payment is not a problem.
*Should you wish to use the layaway plan, please go ahead and make your purchase as a Check, Money-Order or OTHER, but do not make payment. I'll bill you via Paypal. I regularly check my Etsy account and I'll most likely respond before the end of the day.
