Caroline Jaco | Memorial Jeweler
Early in my adulthood, I trained as a silversmith. This education led me to an exciting position in NYC’s Diamond District. On the same day I started my career, I met William. Romance blossomed both with William and with the jewelry industry.
Not long after, the recession struck. It stalled the jewelry industry and our careers. We decided to move back to my home in St. Louis, MO and forge a new path forward. Just as we were recovering, William was lost to me in a tragic accident. I found myself in my early 20s—widowed, jobless, and alone with an infant.
William left behind a stockpile of love notes. While sifting through them one day, I had the idea to etch his sentiments from one of the notes into silver. Scripted Jewelry was born in 2011 with a single cuff bracelet, engraved with his handwriting.
Over the past decade, I’ve helped thousands of people on their own grief journeys by creating meaningful keepsakes that allow them to hold the memory of their loved ones close.
In time, this project helped me heal as well. I’m now in my second chapter—remarried and running Scripted Jewelry from my St. Peters, MO home, where I live with my second husband and our children.
I’m a memorial jeweler, handcrafting sentimental keepsakes that are engraved with your loved one’s handwriting, fingerprints, doodles and more. I work primarily in sterling silver, vitreous enamel, brass and antique bronze.
I offer a collection of quick personalize jewelry pieces as well as custom commissions. Commissions allow you to work directly with me to create a fully one of a kind piece, tailored to perfectly encapsulate the memory of your loved one.
I am most proud of my attention to detail. I’ll spend more time than I should admit making sure every tiny detail of a handwritten note is properly cleaned up and laid out on a jewelry piece before moving it into production.
