I LOVE my Woola!!! He's got such a lovely little face, both fierce and adorable in one. He really is much cuter in real life than in the picture. Everyone should have one!!!

About

Adventures in Craftwork

I have been crocheting since I was a little girl, but it's only in the past few years that I've truly knuckled down and gotten really good at it. I kept getting the suggestion from friends and others who saw my work that I should start selling on Etsy, and since I haven't been able to find regular work at a regular job I finally decided to do it, in order to supplement our household income in whatever small way I could.

My Mom tried to get me interested in sewing as well, but I never liked it - all that tedious positioning and pinning and cutting and hunching over, and all that before the actual sewing takes place. I tried once more to get interested in it once I had a family, since it's a very useful and money-saving skill to have; but my hatred of the whole process just couldn't be overcome. Plus the blasted machine hates me just as much as I hate it. Enter my husband: he took over and found that he actually enjoys sewing, and so I added his creations to our inventory. I've also included a few recipes for his culinary creations, as he's just as good in the kitchen as he is at the sewing machine.

You might wonder about the name I chose for this shop - the first thing to know is that my husband and I are pagan, and my patron deity is that of the ocean, in all his forms. It used to be that a devotee of a certain god or goddess would be called a knight of that deity, so I call myself the Sea Knight. Craft, in this case, has a layered meaning: artisan crafts, witchcraft, and lastly, a craft such as a seafaring vessel. My thought is that since I (and my husband) create so many varied things, this store is like a ship carrying many different things to sell and trade in many different ports.

I've always been creative; I started crocheting when I was about eight, and I've since dabbled in many different crafts.
