Seller is a great communicator who delivered a quality product, as promised, and shipping WAS SUPER FAST! She also helped me out with a very generous interest free layaway program! Would have given her 10 stars if I could. Will definetly recommend and buy from again!

Payment
Payment:
PayPal is the preferred payment, because it is instant, secure, and both the purchaser and the shop are protected. I no longer accept checks or money orders unless it is discussed and approved beforehand. You do not have to sign up for a PayPal account to pay with your credit card through PayPal.

*PLEASE NOTE that items that are purchased and not paid for all at once, but rather in multiple payments over a week, two, or three, etc., are subject to the rules of layaway.

Layaway:
Layaway is available on all items $500 or more. 1/3 is due on purchase, 1/3 in 30 days, and the remaining 1/3 in 60 days. If discussed beforehand, items less than $500 can be put on layaway, but will need to be paid in full within 30 days. If you need arrangements other than these, please contact me first and I will try to accommodate you. If paying with check or money order, $30 returned check fee applies, and checks will be held for one week until payment clears. You may cancel your layaway purchase within 7 days of placing your order ONLY. After this, there are absolutely NO REFUNDS on layaway purchases. If you contact me and decide to cancel your layaway after 7 days, or you want to return an item purchased on layaway within three days of receipt, you will have a shop credit for the amount that you paid, less a 10% restocking fee, available to you for 30 days. After 30 days the credit will expire if unused. Please consider this before putting an item on layaway, as there are no longer ANY exceptions. If layaway payments are not received according to agreement, and a payment goes unpaid for a week after its due date with no response from you, the item will be returned to the shop inventory, and a store credit of the money paid toward the item will be issued, less a 20% restocking fee. If the store credit is not used within 10 days, the money shall be forfeited.

We understand that sometimes large purchases are hard to make, and that is why we at Seacoast Victorian choose to offer you layaway. By offering layaway, Seacoast Victorian is granting you an interest free payment plan on your word that you will purchase the item. Not only do we provide you with an interest free installment plan, we have to wait for our money for months, guarantee to reserve the item for you, and refuse any other offers from potential buyers. We take on a lot of risk and responsibility to provide you with this optional benefit. A layaway is a contract in which the buyer promises to buy the item, and to pay instalments by a certain date. If the contract is broken, we may have refused offers and lost opportunities to sell it. The breaking of a layaway contract and the demanding of the return of money, months after the layaway purchase, is financially detrimental to our small business. Please consider all of this before you purchase an item on layaway.
Shipping
We make every effort to ship items on the day payment is received or the day after. All items are shipped first class unless discussed beforehand (with the exception of engagement rings which are shipped USPS Priority or Express insured.) Please contact me for shipping upgrades. I can get any item to you ASAP.

International shipping is first class insured international, except for high priced items such as engagement rings, which will be sent Priority Mail or FedEx. Please note that first class insured international does not require a signature upon delivery. Buyers are responsible for any customs duties or taxes. Seacoast Victorian will NOT lie on customs forms. If an item is returned by your country because there are duties/taxes that you refuse to pay, there will be a 25% restocking fee, and the balance, less shipping, will be available to be used within 10 days of receipt as a store credit. If the store credit is not used within 10 days, the money shall be forfeited.

Seacoast Victorian provides signature proof of delivery for domestic shipments, which insures that your item is not left at your house in the event that no one is home. The exception to this is if we upgrade your shipping for free - then you are responsible for any further shipping upgrades. Seacoast Victorian is not responsible for damages if item is not insured. We do package items securely and in a bubble envelope or padded box. However, we are not responsible for any losses or damages as a result of USPS. If you would like insurance, please request it before purchase. All engagement rings include insurance and are sent USPS Priority or Express.

**Please note that because of new USPS policies there is no longer Express Overnight mail. There is Priority Mail 2-3 day, and Priority Mail Express which takes 1-2 days. If the Express shipment is going to take 2 days and Priority Mail is a cheaper option, I will ship Priority Mail insured and refund you the difference.**
Refunds and Exchanges
Seacoast Victorian, Inc. makes every effort to describe our items accurately and provide descriptive pictures of our items. We will also disclose in our listing any noticeable flaws. We do offer a three day return window no questions asked. PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST BEFORE RETURNING AN ITEM. Customer must contact me within (3) days of receipt and notify me of the intention to return the item. Item must be returned within (7) days of receipt. Customer must return the item, in original condition, with no damage. Buyer pays return shipping. If I provided free shipping as a perk to you, and the item is returned for reasons other then not matching the item description, the cost of postage will be taken out of the refund. At my discretion I may offer store credit if the item misses the (3) day return window, but I am contacted about the item within (7) days of receipt. If the item was grossly misrepresented, please contact me asap. I will refund the cost of the item plus shipping.

If USPS attempts to deliver your package and leaves you a notice, and you don't collect your item from the post office after (5) days, the return window is closed and the sale is final. If you don't pick your item up and it is returned to me, there will be a 25% restocking fee, and the balance, less shipping, will be available as a store credit for 10 days after the receipt of the returned item.
Additional policies and FAQs
Ring Sizing:
I am not a bench jeweler and I do not size rings. All of my rings are sizable unless stated in the listing. However, please consult with your jeweler on any issues regarding sizing before purchase. Most plain bands are easily sizable several sizes, but a lot of antique rings contain filigree design by the stone mounting. As sizing expands or contracts the ring, the filigree will have to expand or contract with it. A size or less up or down should normally present no problem, but more than this and the filigree may have to be attended to. Some jewelers are more willing to work with redesigning the filigree than others if necessary. Also, some stone have varying heat sensitivity, so a bench jeweler needs to be knowledgeable.

Diamond/Gemstone Carat Sizes:
Gemstone and diamond carat sizes are approximate and estimated by the measurements of the stone inside the setting. Exact measurements cannot be obtained without removing the stone from the setting. Please be advised that gemstone sizes and diamond carat sizes are not the same. A one carat gemstone will appear smaller in size than a one carat diamond.

Ring Prongs:
It is the buyer’s responsibility to have all ring prongs evaluated by a jeweler after purchase. As these are antique and vintage pieces they are usually well worn and the prongs that hold the gemstones or diamonds may need to be tightened or reinforced to ensure the safety of the stone within the setting.

Jewelry Valuations/Appraisals:
Modern jewelry stores are not qualified to recognize or appraise antique jewelry. While most jewelry shops will overvalue their own jewelry, and give you puffed up appraisals for their merchandise, the appraisal they give you for your outside jewelry will almost always be based on intrinsic value. Intrinsic value is the metal value plus the gem value, or what it would cost to replace the ring with equal parts of similar value in today's market. If you think about this you will see the flaw in this method, as vintage and antique pieces CANNOT be exactly replaced. Therefore calculations of value, based on the estimated costs incurred to replace said items in newly manufactured condition, would be inappropriate. Appraisals of value for antique and vintage jewelry items should reflect the average cost incurred to replace said items of similar condition, as well as rarity, appeal, historical value, market trends, and craftsmanship. If you want your antique or vintage piece appraised correctly, please take it to an independent GIA certified appraiser that has experience appraising antique jewelry. Not only are they qualified to appraise such jewelry, but there is no competition influencing the appraisal since they are not trying to sell you anything.

Seacoast Victorian is not qualified to grade diamonds. We base our prices on extensive research and evaluation of the current market, as well as owner's experience based on years of work in the industry as a buyer and an independent jeweler. Our prices are well researched and fair, and in many cases priced below online competitors or what you would be prepared to spend at a brick and mortar store. Any diamond ring over ½ carat will be taken to a trusted jeweler to estimate the color, cut, and clarity.
