Handmade Soaps with Skin-Loving Ingredients

Hi! I'm Stacey Seal and my home-based business is located in Abingdon, Virginia. My soaps are available online and at Katydidz Craft and Artisan Market in Midlothian, Virginia.

I started making soap in late 2014. I was wandering through the aisles of a big box store with a list of names to buy Christmas gifts for and I had no idea what to get.

When I stumbled into the craft section and saw a basic kit for making soap, I was so excited about all of the fun colors and scents. That year, everyone on my Christmas list received a small collection of handmade soaps lovingly made by me.

After learning more about soapmaking, I began making soaps using the cold process method. A few months after using my cold process soaps, my Dad came back and said, "Stacey, I need more of that soap. Never stop making it."

After only a few months, his skin looked completely different. After trying doctor-prescribed treatments for his eczema, nothing had worked as well as simply switching to my handmade soaps. He is one of my biggest supporters and loves my salt/brine bars and my unscented camo soaps.

It's been a few years now since I started making soap, and after repeatedly refining my recipes, my problem-skin has improved too. I thought the red bumps on my arms and legs were something I'd have to live with forever, but now I enjoy seeing how soft and smooth my skin looks.

With two rambunctious toddler boys, my life is a juggling act, but making soap has given me a creative outlet and allowed me to do something that stays done (unlike laundry and dishes!)

I love making soap and I have worked hard over the years to find the best combination of ingredients for all skin-types. (Shea butter for dry skin, activated charcoal or salt for oily skin, and unscented or essential oil soaps for those with extremely sensitive skin.)

Coming up with original designs is one of my favorite things about making soap and I love finding inspiration through nature, especially from the beautiful mountains of southwest Virginia where I now live.

I've been so blessed by my friends and family that have embraced my little business, shared their enthusiasm, and enabled me to continue to make one-of-a-kind soaps with skin-loving ingredients!

For most of my life, I struggled with the appearance of my skin. It wasn't until I began making soap 5 years ago, that I learned the benefits of high-quality ingredients. I enjoy making soaps inspired by the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia!

Frequently asked questions
How do I make my soap last longer?

Use a draining soap dish, keep the soap out of direct flow of water and allow to dry completely between uses.

Do you use the same recipe for all of your soaps?

I use several trusted recipes to accommodate different skin types. Check the product description for the ingredients and size of each bar. If there is a soap that you particularly love, be sure to let me know!

Do you do local pickup/delivery?

Yes! Please send me a message and we can work out the details!
