Let Your Geek Flag Fly! (A Glimpse at the Madness.)

I might be able to design fancy graphics with my degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, but I'm far from an eloquent writer. So please bear with me as I fumble through this.

I've been crafting since I was a little girl, but I truly didn't get into sewing until I was about 20 and entered the cosplay scene. I had watched my mother and older sister whip up Halloween costumes for me while I was growing up, but I never fully learned how to use a machine until I sat down and forced myself to learn. As you might imagine, I also never learned how to use a pattern. So I crafted them myself. After that, I was hooked.

A few years later, I hung up my cosplay crown and focused on my education. In 2010, I graduated from AAU with a BFA in Graphic Design and was delighted to find myself pregnant with our first child. After much research, I decided that cloth diapering was the right choice for our family, but I wanted to make them myself. Of course, in true Geek fashion, I decided to create my own pattern. That's how the "Pocket Protector" diaper line got it's start.

In December 2011, I was gifted the most wonderful embroidery machine. I couldn't possibly be happy with just plainly designed diapers, right? That's when madness it. My husband quickly taught himself the ins and outs of digitizing and we began to build a stash of the geekiest diapers anyone has ever seen.

I would get the normal ooo's and ah's and the usual "you should sell those" from people that we showed, but never really took it seriously. Then I found myself without a job and needed to make some money to help support our family. It was time to take this silly idea and move forward with it. A few months later, Seams Geeky was born.

Greetings fellow Geeks! I'm a graphic designer by day, and a crafter by night. I'm a wife and mother always. I've been crafting since I was about 4 years old. I think its in my blood.

Refunds and Exchanges

Do to the unsalable nature of used cloth diapers, I cannot accept any diapers back for a refund. However, if some sort of issue should arise that is not related to normal wear and tear or improper care of the diaper, (i.e. snaps are broken, elastic snapped, seams ripped, etc.) I will gladly repair or replace the diaper for you during the first 30 days after receipt. This does not include incorrect sizing. I cannot guarantee size or fit, as every child is different. It will be your responsibility to ship the diaper back to me at your cost. Please make sure that your diaper is clean and sanitized before returning it to me.

Custom orders are not returnable. Sorry!
Additional policies and FAQs

With proper washing and care, your POCKET PROTECTOR Diapers should last you several years.

Notes: No one set of instructions works for every machine. These directions are for a top-loading machine. It is a good idea to wash your diapers every 2-3 days.

Step 1: Remove the diaper from your baby.

Step 2: If you are unable to rinse the diaper right away, roll the front of the diaper toward the back and then snap the back snaps together. Place in a wet bag.

Step 3: Shake or spray (using a diaper sprayer) solid waste into a toilet.

Step 4: Remove microfiber insert and toss insert and diaper into a wet bag or pail.

Step 5: When you are ready to wash, throw diapers into your washing machine, turn your wet bag inside out and place in your machine.

Step 6: Start a cold wash on your largest load setting (if you don’t have a soak function) with no detergent and leave the lid up. This will agitate the diapers and let them soak to loosen the fibers. Soak for 30-60 minutes. Then close the lid and let the cycle finish.

Step 7: Run a hot soak like above with detergent for 30 minutes and let the cycle finish. For more information on diaper safe detergents check out:

Step 8: Run another hot cycle with no detergent or soaking.

Step 9: Place diapers in a dryer or line dry. Dry on a low-medium heat setting. DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER OR DRYER SHEETS. These will build-up and make your diapers repel water.

1. Boiling to Prep or Strip
2. Bleach on the outside of the diapers. (OK on microfiber insert.)
3. Fabric Softeners
4. Brighteners
5. Additional Laundry Additives

These products/techniques may age and destroy the integrity of the diapers.
