Always a comics retailer at heart.
Before I ever wrote comics, I sold comics—out of my parents' hardware and sporting goods store in Wisconsin. Yep! Started in high school, just after "Kraven's Last Hunt" had come out. Started with a perfectly good four-foot magazine rack the grocery-store neighbor was throwing out and grew from there.
Eventually, I closed that business and left the wilds of the Northwoods for Columbus, Ohio. And even though I had started to realize my dream of writing comics, I still wasn't making a living from it, so aside from my regular job-type jobs I put in hours at the legendary Laughing Ogre, in part because I missed selling comics.
Once I was writing comics full time, I used my skills as a web designer to build an online store and sell the comics I wrote directly to fans. It wasn't quite as awesome as hand-selling in a store, but I was proud of my coding skills and enjoyed getting my work to people who couldn't get hold of it in their neck of the woods.
Over time, I became too busy and closed that online store, maybe around 2008? I'd been itching to get it back up and running, but my code is old and so am I, so here I am on Etsy to bring you the comics I wrote with the added bonus of my strange signature.
Thanks for helping me keep my comics retailer cred!

Hi, I'm the Eisner Award-winning writer of comics like SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE and MYSTIQUE and AVENGERS ORIGINS and X-MEN ORIGINS. And TEEN TITANS! But not the version like the cartoon. Oh no no.
