Updates

Macrame fringing on a bedspread is a serious time commitment! It's so exciting to see the completed work once all the hand finishing has been done.
This is the last version in hydrangea shades. More to come next month, custom color requests welcome.

The very beginnings of fabric creation.
Once woven, washed, and cut, this fabric will be assembled into the last of this seasons summertime tops, tunics, and dresses.

About

A little about Seaweaver:

Hi there, I'm Cara. I am the weaver, seamstress, scavenger, island native, and owner of Seaweaver.
Weaving was introduced to me at age 15 at a local textile studio, and I have been creating fabrics ever since. Learning to weave, I was trained toward a contemporary aesthetic. These days, I love intricate patterns and rustic raw edges. I love to create custom pieces, and I am comfortable designing a wide range of styles and concepts in both home accents, and garments.

My work ethic has always maintained the ideals of environmental health, and sustainability. In my shop, every item has been handmade with all natural, found, or repurposed materials on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts. I weave on vintage wooden floor looms, and source my yarns as locally as possible. I never purchase synthetic fibers for my creations. I am inspired by nature, and I love making things for children. I have alway had a love for art, working with my hands, and finding ways to live mindfully, and reduce our impact on the Earth.

Visit Seaweaver on Instagram @seaweaverstudio and on Facebook for a peek at my works in progress, photo archives, and for an in depth look at the process.

Many thanks!
