Secret Snowbird Fiber Arts
When I was living in Duluth, Minnesota I learned how to knit. Knitting was a wonderful way to pass the time in a place that is snowy and wintery most of the year. I also love the way it connects me to local farms and the heritage of hand made textiles.
Every object in my shop starts as a loosely knit, formless fabric on two bamboo needles. After knitting and sewing any shaping that needs to be done, everything is processed through hot and cold water to felt the wool. After it has been thoroughly felted, everything is plunged in water again, and formed to it's final shape.

Wool. "Felted" uses Cascade 220 to make a smooth soft felt. "Robin's" uses Lopi Lite to create a fuzzy textured felt. However, the "Felted" pattern includes a few extra photos of ideas and some additional info on felting different colors.
