For the Love of Shiny Things
I come from a family of artists. My mother's family comes from Cyprus, from a village that is known for beautiful lacework. You can't swing a stick in that side of my family without hitting an artist or a musician, so it's no wonder I've been obsessed with making jewelry since I was a little girl.
I love the idea of people wearing my work and feeling good about themselves, and about how it looks on them. I know the power of a good accessory, having a vast collection of jewelry (and shoes..and purses..and belts...) myself.
My style leans towards fantasy and history. I like making things that could have come from some ancient grave somewhere, or that you could picture some sword swinging heroine wearing as a talisman. Of course, I also enjoy the quirky things as well, with my UFO and alien necklaces, which are a nod to my childhood fear of being abducted by aliens. Sometimes that big imagination that comes with the creative process can be a bad thing...

I love history, and music, and gardening. I surround myself with books, and I pick up rocks everywhere I go because I just can't help myself. I've never met a rock I didn't want to haul home, much to my husband's dismay..
