About

Sewing Circle Boutique

I am a retired art teacher and life-long crafter who now enjoys putting my hobbies to work. Fabric and sewing are my passion.

I joined a group of other women with similar interests in the spirit of an old-fashioned sewing circle -- to share skills and companionship. With the potential for selling our work through Etsy and elsewhere, the Sewing Circle Boutique was born.

Now, most of the others have moved on and the boutique is mine, with occasional help from my friends and family. When my daughter graduated from college and left home, I converted my garage to a fully equipped sewing studio and her room to storage for my supplies.

Similarly, our product line has evolved. We discovered a niche here in Florida with enthusiastic Gators. We've made everything orange and blue from dog collars to golf cart seats, from baby quilts to kippahs. We have all the Gator logos past and present as embroidery designs.

And we've also made a lot of items using other teams' colors. By the way, I'm an alumna of FSU and especially welcome orders for anything garnet and gold.

In the past our biggest seller has been custom embroidered coozies for bachelor and bachelorette parties, weddings, girls' getaways, graduations, reunions, anniversaries, birthdays, boat and pool parties, family trips, races, even a memorial service. Working with the customer on themes and colors, we produce amazingly individualized mementos for any occasion. But my current passion is a modern approach to making quilts. I am opening a second Etsy shop with a friend, PieceandLuv. More on that soon!

If there is something you want embroidered, do not hesitate to ask. When I had new carpet installed recently in my sewing studio, I was commissioned to embroider shirts for the carpet company's staff. My electrician and lawn maintenance provider also ordered logo shirts. I never know who my next customer will be.

Starting Monday March 21, 2016 I will be the daytime caregiver for my delightful new grandson, Everett. For now I do not know how that will impact my production. I am busy and having fun -- and supplementing my retirement income at the same time! Who could ask for more?

Thanks for your business.

Go Gators!
