Serving a need in a small niche

I spent 26 years on submarines operating the nuclear reactor and maintaining all electrical equipment onboard. I enjoyed my time in the Navy and found that I get a great feeling of satisfaction when I fix equipment. Especially complex equipment with minimal repair parts available.
Since retirement from the Navy, I found that repairing sewing machines was fulfilling and gave me the ability to help others. Making money doing this hobby, combined with my retirement income keeps me at home with my kids, which was my goal for this next step in life.
I found that the sewing machine collector community has many needs that aren't being met. It seems that sewing machine manufacturers don't provide parts and support for machines after a few years. This is where I began to look in order to create products for my store.
There is also not diverse aftermarket products due to the low volume of such items. I figured I would do some testing to see if there was a possibility for me to create some products that don't exist anywhere else. That is where the idea of the colored bobbin winder tire came from. I ordered a small amount and just put them out there to see if there was any demand. Well, there was some demand, I'm not going to get rich off selling them, but that isn't the point. It is a labor of love and people just love to customize their vintage machines in a way that doesn't damage or permanently change the machine.
I continue to research and try to find new products that aren't found elsewhere. I have hit a few stumbling blocks through my searches, but no search has ended. I just have to figure out a different way to do it.
I am open to any ideas you may have for a new product, feel free to message me and give me ideas.
In conclusion, I am a stay at home dad who fixes sewing machines in his garage. I also sell products that can't be found anywhere else in the world. Oh, and I have a YouTube channel where I document all of this. Come hang out with me!
