Announcement   Thank you for visiting Sewology 101! All of my items are handmade lovingly in my home, and each item is one of a kind. I primarily make rag quilts but I also make fabric, burlap, and pom pom banners and garlands in several styles and upcycled doily dream catchers.

At this time balancing my busy family life with work means that I am not accepting any new custom orders, but I look forward to taking them on again at some point in the future. In the meantime, happy shopping and thanks for stopping by!

About

It all started with one pink quilt...

Sewology101 for me started in the spring of 2012 when my mom (who taught me to sew) was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Feeling scared and powerless to help her, I started making her a pink rag quilt so that she would have something cozy and familiar to take with her to her many, many treatments.

I found that the sewing really took my mind off of the stress that our family was going through, and I loved having something beautiful when I was finished a project. I then made one for a cousin, and a co-worker, and Sewology101 was born. I chose the name as a nod to my "day job" in health sciences, which really doesn't afford much outlet for my creativity.

I love creating beautiful things, and have dabbled in many crafts and hobbies, but sewing seems to have stuck for me! I love planning out my next projects, and am always on the lookout for great new fabric!

Thank you for visiting Sewology101. All items are lovingly handmade by me in my smoke-free home. Each item is unique and exactly the item that appears in the photos, unless otherwise stated. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

The name Sewology101 was inspired by my day job, which as a lab technologist is scientific and very un-creative but I do love crafting, sewing, and making things with my hands in my free time. Having two small boys, I also really like playing with "girlie" things since I don't have much pink or purple in my house!
