Advance payment is required prior to commencement of work on a custom piece. Sewphisticated will work with you to select paint color or stain (if necessary) as well as making fabric selections.

Great question! We've partnered with over 15 major quality fabric lines and have access to over 60,000 high-quality indoor/outdoor, upholstery, drapery and multi-purpose fabrics for the home. You can shop from the convenience of your home and peruse the vast fabric collections from Kravet, Fabricut, Trend, Pindler, Greenhouse, Barrow, Robert Allen, Stout, DuraLee and Sunbrella, to name a few. Pricing for fabric is based on the client's overall design and selection and therefore, is calculated separately from the custom furniture piece. Once a custom piece has been selected, Sewphisticated will calculate yardage requirements for the project and will provide you links to our vendor's websites to select your fabric!

Once we have an executed Upholstery Agreement and have received payment for your custom piece, Sewphisticated can order FREE memo samples of any fabrics you want to see and touch in person! We will obtain all samples and will forward them to you for approval prior to ordering actual yardage for your project.

Unfortunately we do not accept C.O.M. (Customer's Own Material) for a myriad of reasons. First and foremost, we simply cannot warranty the final result of an upholstery project when we have no idea how your fabric was manufactured, if it was properly finished at the mill or what kind of defects may be inherently a part of that fabric. Additionally, because we do not have access to your fabric’s original fiber content, durability, finishing process and cleaning recommendations, we cannot tell if it's even appropriate for the project.

By carrying quality lines of fabrics directly, we are offering our clients our expertise and experience that they can’t simply find online.

We take payment in advance for materials used in the project. Some examples may be new cushion foam, fabric, decorative trim accents like nailheads or decorative cording. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure you know the cost up front so you can make an informed decision on your purchase. Once we’ve received payment for fabric and materials, which you can make via cash, check, Paypal, Venmo, and Square, we will order materials.

We hope you know that when you choose custom upholstery it’s not just about slapping new fabric on and sending you on your way. We are a custom workroom that collaborates with our clients and want them to be an integral part of the process so they can be proud of the choices and finishes THEY have made. We are here to execute your vision, NOT about churning out the work. Each client’s project becomes the most important project on our project board at that time.

We will provide you with an estimated completion date and will keep you apprised as we near completion so we can coordinate delivery of your piece.

We love cushion projects! Please contact us directly, providing us with the dimensions of your cushion (length x width x height) and it's intended use.

The density of the foam used varies from project to project and we want to make sure you get the comfort you are looking and durability based on indoor vs. outdoor use.

We can then begin the discussion of fabricating custom cushions for your home or backyard including fabric selection. We will provide you with a base cost for the cushion(s) as well as an estimate for fabric cost.

If you'd like to proceed with custom cushions, we will have you sign an Upholstery Agreement and obtain payment in advance prior to commencement of the project.

Great question! Contact us with your desired finished dimensions, details (i.e. single welt piping, fringe, knife edge, buttons) and insert (polyfil, down or down alternative) and we will provide you with an estimate for fabrication.

If you already have your inserts and just want covers made to replace your existing pillows, no problem. We can do that as well and provide you with a cost for fabrication.

Shipping costs vary based on the overall size, weight, method of transportation and buyer's location. We can obtain an estimate but final shipping costs will be determined once the piece is completed and boxed, crated or palletized for shipping.

We obtain quotes from various shippers and allow our clients to select the method they prefer (Greyhound Package Express, XPO Logistics or private transit/carrier).
