Happy Clothes for Happy People

No matter what your style is your clothing should always do one thing, make you happy. That is the core philosophy of my store and something I keep in mind with every item I produce.

All of the fabrics I use are high quality and purchased from American companies. I purchase the same fabrics used around the world and across industries ranging from professional ballet dance troupes, circus costumers, Broadway shows producers, sportswear companies, and other fashion designers such as Black Milk clothing in Australia.

My commitment is to only produce clothing I would wear myself. I keep prices low by only having one employee, me! That means everything you buy is sewn by me in my home.

I am truly lucky to have found a job I love doing and hope all my customers enjoy wearing my products as much as I enjoyed designing and creating them.

While living in the Mojave I started sewing for family and friends as a way to keep myself busy while my husband, a member of the USAF, was away. I truly love what I do and wouldn't trade it for anything. Design is my passion, spandex is my fashion!

Welcome to Sexism is Over. I pride myself on unique handmade and eye catching products.

I am thrilled to be reopening! You will see some old favorites as well as some new products I am very excited about. As always the primary focus of my store will be leggings but I would like to introduce other active-wear items as well.

In addition to active-wear I have had a lot of demand for the tops, jackets, and bags seen in some of my photos. These items are made by myself and I will be introducing limited quantities to the store over the coming weeks.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
This shop accepts paypal and direct etsy checkout.
Please ensure the address on your paypal and etsy account is correct.

Please note my stock is sold FOB from my ship point. Once the item has left my store I cannot be held responsible for any shipping errors. This is why I ask that you please take extra time and ensure the address you have listed on your account is correct.

***Orders Shipped Within the US***
I ship using USPS flat rate. This includes delivery confirmation. This does not include insurance or signature service. If you would like either of these services added please include a note when placing the order and I will add these services and send a paypal invoice for the additional costs.

Once the item has shipped you will receive a USPS tracking number.

***International Orders***
As of April 3 2013 we will be shipping using International 1st Class instead of International Flat Rate. This method will be significantly cheaper for the purchaser however it may add some time to the delivery date. There is now tracking available with this shipment method. This method does include insurance.

For most leggings the shipping price will drop from $23.95 flat rate to $15. The $15 includes the insurance.

Buyer is responsible for any International Customs fees.
Refunds and Exchanges
Due to the nature of the products my shop carries there are no returns for clothing items for sanitary reasons. Defects can be returned for a mended pair. I am sure my customers understand and would not be happy receiving an item that had been worn previously :)

As a result I ask all my customers to please check sizing information carefully before purchasing. I provide two methods of sizing for all my garments. The first is sizing based on your body measurements for example waist and hip measurements for leggings. This will provide you with a good guide however since my clothing is designed to be very fitted and every body is a little different I have also provided the exact measurements of of the clothing item by size as well.

To ensure the best fit compare the measurements of an article of clothing you own to the measurements of the item you wish to purchase. I know a lot of my customers are huge Black Milk fans, like myself, so you probably have lots of leggings and bodysuits to compare with :)

Lay your leggings (or body suit or dress!) on a flat surface and measure with a tape measure. Compare your measurements to the chart labelled "Exact Leggings Measurements" and pick the sizing closest to yours. If you prefer a looser fit size up, if you prefer a tighter fit size down.

*And finally on the subject of sizing, to answer a very commonly asked question*

Q: Is your sizing the same as Black Milk, American Apparel, Lululemon, etc?
A: Not exactly! Keep in mind that to manufacturer a garment for sale you must draft your own pattern as commercially available patterns are intended to be for personal use only. So while of course many people will wear the same sized leggings across different brands some people may not, which is why I provide measurements for my garments in addition to body size charts.

EU Directive on Consumer Rights

On June 13, 2014, regulations took effect in the European Union (EU) that may impact certain Etsy transactions. The regulations, which will implement the EU Directive on Consumer Rights, apply to all Etsy sellers who sell to buyers in the EU (even if an Etsy seller is based outside of the EU) and buyers based in EU member countries. Each EU Member state has adopted its own unique national laws incorporating the directive. Failure to comply with these regulations can invalidate a sale and possibly even violate the law.

Buyers residing in countries that are subject to these regulations have the right to return an item within 14 days of receiving the item. Sellers affected by the regulations must clearly inform buyers residing in these countries about their right to return an item before the buyer makes a purchase (such as in the listing or the seller’s shop policies). Failure to do so will extend the withdrawal period by an additional year, meaning that buyers will have a period of one year and 14 fourteen days in which to return the item.

This right does not extend to custom-made products and certain perishable goods, unless otherwise specified by the seller. Digital content, including artwork and patterns, may not be eligible for return. Rules governing digital content vary by EU member country.

If a buyer exercises their right to return an item, a seller must reimburse all payments, including the original shipping charges, received from the buyer. If a seller has not received returned goods from a buyer, the seller may withhold such reimbursement provided that reimbursement occurs within 14 days of receipt of the returned goods. The buyer is responsible for paying return shipping costs unless the seller has agreed to bear those costs. If a seller has not agreed to bear return costs and the item cannot, due to its nature, be returned by post, an estimate of the return costs should be included in the information provided to the buyer relating to cancellation and return.

Sellers must also provide buyers with a model withdrawal form (in other words, a cancellation form) that they can- but are not obliged to- use if they wish to return a product.

Below are links to a model withdrawal form.

Additional policies and FAQs

Do you accept returns?
-No. Defective items may be returned for a repair. Due to the nature of the products my shop carries there are no returns for clothing items for sanitary reasons. I am sure my customers understand and would not be happy receiving an item that had been worn previously :) Defective items may be returned for a repair. If you have any questions regarding a particular listing or fabric or would simply like more pictures please contact me before making a purchase. If you receive an item that you believe is defective please contact me before sending the time for repair, I am not able to repair damage done to leggings after purchase.

When will a certain fabric be restocked?
-This is dependent on a number of factors such as supplier availability and customer demand.

-I purchase some fabrics from larger retailers and in some cases those are available to reorder. However I love being able to source rare fabrics as well from small boutiques and in some cases single family businesses. In many cases those fabrics will not be available again either through my store or anywhere else. To avoid disappointment if you see an item in my shop you would like to purchase I suggest assuming that the item is limited supply only.

A fabric is sold out/sold out in my size. Can I still buy it?
-If I have a planned reorder for sold out items I will note that on the listing. If there is no estimated restock date on the listing then at that time there is no reorder planned. If you would like to place a request for a sold out fabric I am happy to attempt to place a special order with the supplier dependent on the fabric still being available. The cost for special fabric orders starts at $60 per pair for four or less pairs to cover additional overhead. If you would like to place an order for five or more pairs of the same sold out fabric this will lower the price to the standard store pricing for in stock items.

Do you accept bulk/wholesale orders?
-Yes. For 20 or more pairs of leggings made from the same fabric I am able to offer a wholesale discount.

Can you send me a free pair of leggings?

Where do you buy your fabrics?
-I purchase fabrics from over a dozen different vendors at this time. Some small business some nationwide companies.
