Artisan Fibers and Yarns

Shadawyn Fiber Arts is a one-woman business specializing in hand-dyed, artisan spinning fibers, yarn, and handspun yarn. Each of my fibers are dyed individually (even clubs and dyed to order batches), and rinsed individually by hand in my sink. I believe this makes each braid of fiber unique and keeps the fibers as soft and easy to spin as possible, even if it is a lot more work.

The shop opened in early 2012 as a hobby venture and a way to de-stash all of the extra fiber I was dyeing up far faster than I could hope to spin it. Now fiber arts are my full time occupation and I couldn't be happier. (Thank you!)

When I am not immersed in fiber (and really, often when I am), I'm enjoying life in Seattle in an inspiring and creative household of artists and craftspeople. In addition, I am a life-long geek, and play RPGs with friends and regularly consume a healthy diet of fantasy and science fiction media.

    Owner, Artist

Ann always wanted to be an artist when she grew up. She took a detour into the tech industry, but now she's found herself on track and has embarked on being a full-time artist. She's still not sure about that grown-up thing, though.

A note about photos:

I take my photos in natural sunlight with a DSLR camera. I often need to tweak the photos to get the color to match as closely as I can on my monitor. Many of my images show the fiber under different circumstances (tweaked and untweaked) to give you the best idea of what the fiber looks like.

Depending on the lighting you are looking at the fiber with and your monitor, it may appear different. If it looks radically different than you expected and you don't like it, please contact me about an exchange or return. If you'd like additional pictures before ordering, please send me a convo :)
