Tried out a different glaze combo on this plant pot and I love this look even more than the original now!! Message me if you'd like this glaze instead!

Happiness is Clay Between Your Fingers

My closet is full of clothes caked in dried clay, there's pottery all over every surface of my little house because I have zero storage space, and I love it! I started working with clay as a child, and that passion carried me all the way to high school where I was introduced to throwing clay on the potter's wheel....15 years later and here I am, hands caked in clay and enjoying every second of it.

During the day I work in marketing for a great health care company, and nights and weekends I am a potter and ceramic artist.

I am a proud member of a small pottery studio in Detroit, where I use the potter's wheel to make mugs, bowls, centerpieces, and vases. I also love hand building as well! And exclamation marks! So fun.

My husband and I live in a little neighborhood near Detroit, in his grandfather's old house with our furry, four legged children :) This is not a clean hobby, but it's one that allows me to keep my coffee mug collection alive and well! Oh goodness, you should see my cabinets, there's no room!! If you want to buy everything, my husband will thank you personally!

I can also accommodate large orders for restaurants or special events, so if your business could use a little pop of Made in the USA I'm your girl!

Hello and welcome to ShadowSparkStudio! This is your place to find one-of-a-kind, beautiful pieces made from the heart.

Creativity is my outlet for relaxation and self identity. I have a hand in many different art forms, but the pull I have always felt has been with clay and jewelry. Throwing a bowl on the potters wheel or attaching the final touch to a pair of earrings, those are the moments that give me pure joy, and I am excited to share my passion and creativity with you. There is an enormous amount of pride I feel when someone asks me where I purchased the jewelry I'm wearing, or the bowl I'm eating cereal out of, and I can say that I made them. My pieces are not only functional pieces of art, but serve as conversation starters and beautiful gifts for yourself or your loved ones.

Accepted payment methods

Visa Mastercard American Express Discover Giftcard
Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
All sales are final and non-refundable. Please report any issues, problems or errors with your purchase immediately within 24 hours of receiving your item in the mail.

Made to Order pieces are modeled off of pieces previously made or requested. I try my very best to make these as close to the original requested as possible, but please know that as part of the handmade ceramic process, no two pieces can be the exact same. There will be some variation in the size, shape, and color of the piece.

Accidents when mailing fragile items do happen, so if an item is destroyed in the mail, I will re-make it for you (and cry a little on the inside that the original broke), but please note that it can take up to 3 - 6 weeks to remake it.
I accept Etsy gift cards, PayPal, and Credit Card Payments through Direct Checkout. I like using PayPal because it is so simple to use and safe for everyone. Keep in mind that you can always pay by credit card through PayPal without having to have a PayPal account. I do not accept money orders.

Please note that I will not ship your order until payment is made. Payment is expected within 2 days of your purchase, so keep that in mind if you are on a bit of a time restraint.
Items will be shipped to the address that is provided through Etsy unless otherwise noted. Items will not be shipped to your PayPal address unless it is noted on your Etsy checkout.

For pieces that are "Ready to Ship" your order will be packaged carefully and shipped within 3 business days, excluding weekends and holidays after receipt of payment.

Items "Made to Order" take approximately 4 - 6 weeks to be made and then shipped. I will try my best to get these out the door faster than that time frame, however it does take some time to get pieces made, fired, and then glazed and I am limited by the time it takes my ceramic studio to get them in and out. Lately it has taken pieces longer to dry (my studio is in a basement), so I moved the time frame out to 4 - 6 weeks, but it could be done in 3 - 4 weeks possibly.

If this is a gift I can ship directly to the person as a gift from you. If you would like me to add a note, I can do that as well. Please specify any and all requests mentioned above in the “Message for the seller” box.

Items are shipped via USPS and usually take between 2-5 days to arrive. A tracking number will be provided upon shipment of item. Be aware that a tracking number may not be available for all States.
Additional policies and FAQs
I want you to be over-the-moon happy with your purchase!!! If for any reason you are not, please let me know!

** Please keep in mind that color may vary slightly due to the color calibration of each individual monitor. **

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

All of my pottery is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. For the earrings, I recommend using a silver polishing cloth every once in a while to keep them looking good as new.

Do you accept custom order requests?

I do! I find them challenging and exciting. However there is a chance that your request will be a first time attempt for me, so please know that if you request a glaze or glaze combination I typically don't use, I cannot guarantee the final result. All custom orders are non-refundable, because I spend time perfecting the process as well as spending money on the requested materials. Feel free to message me any questions, and together we can talk through your needs and form a plan of attack.

Are you the only person on your team?

Yes I am! Everything in my shop was created by me in the community ceramics studio I work out of in Detroit, Michigan.

Do you gift wrap?

All of my pieces come automatically gift wrapped in brown kraft paper and string. If you purchase a piece as a gift, be sure to let me know and I can include a name and/or a small message on a gift tag.

I see a previously purchased piece I like that is no longer available in your shop. Can I request another be made for me?

Absolutely! If you see a sold out listing that you are interested in, please let me know and I will remake it for you. If you like the style but prefer a different glaze color, just let me know what you would prefer and I will happily build out a custom order for you.

Do you refund shipping overages?

Yes I do. If you order multiple items from me, I will try to ship them as carefully as I can together in the same box. I will issue the refund as soon as I package up your order. However, if that method seems a little iffy on the safety of the pieces, I will ship them separately.
