With many Canadians isolating at home and shopping more online, Canada Post is now processing and delivering parcels at levels only experienced during the busiest weeks of the Christmas season.

Canada Post is advising customers to expect delays with their parcel deliveries. The heavy incoming parcel volumes, combined with the important safety measures we’ve implemented in our processing facilities, mean it is taking longer to process.


PLEASE NOTE: If you want to upgrade your shipping method to Expedited Parcel or Express Post I will need a daytime telephone number to include on your shipping label. These items can not be shipped outside of Canada without a telephone number. If you do not provide me with a telephone number, it will result in unnecessary delays in shipping your order.

A Note About Shipping Fees:
For my Etsy shop, I have to estimate the shipping charges. I'm sorry to say that Canada Post rates can actually cost up to $20.00 for standard parcel rates, even for a small item. Their rates vary, depending on your postal code, so it can be very expensive to send a package to British Columbia or the Maritimes. I have capped my shipping rates at $17.00 for the first item purchased, in an effort to help my customers with their shipping costs. I also offer combined shipping discounts, so it would save you money if you were purchasing more than one item. If the actual shipping cost turns out to be significantly less than the amount you were charged, I will issue a partial refund to you. If you would like to send me your mailing address with postal code I can tell you what the exact shipping rate will be.

For small skeins of embroidery thread, I have been using Canada Post Oversized Lettermail. However, please note that there is no tracking number or insurance available for these items. Please contact me if you would prefer to have these items shipped by Canada Post Expedited Parcel with tracking and insurance included. Please note that I will need a daytime contact telephone number for Expedited Parcel or Express Post items. Please contact me for more information.

For items going outside of Canada I have been using Canada Post Small Packet Air Mail, which usually takes 10 to 15 business days, in order to keep the shipping costs as low as possible. Canada Post does not provide a tracking number or insurance for these items. Unfortunately, I have been having far too many people requesting refunds on their purchases if their orders take longer than usual to arrive. These refunds come out of my own pocket, since their is no insurance included with Small Packet items. Because of this, I have had to change my shipping methods for many items going outside of Canada to Canada Post Tracked Packet or Canada Post Expedited Parcel (depending on the number of items).

Just a reminder, as indicated in my Shop Policies, buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I am not responsible for delays due to customs.

Return Policy:

We will cheerfully accept returns or exchanges if for any reason you are not happy with your purchase.

Items can be returned for exchange or a full refund in the amount of your purchase price, less shipping and handling fees.

The item must be returned prepaid, insured, in original condition and packaging within thirty (30) days of receipt of your item.

Refunds are processed within 10 days of receipt of the returned items.

Why is shipping so expensive?

Shipping charges are estimated and Canada Post rates can actually cost up to $20 for Standard Parcel, even for small items, depending on your postal code. I have capped my rates at $16 for most items. I also offer combined shipping rates, so you save money for multiple purchases. If the actual shipping cost is significantly less than you were charged, I will issue a partial refund. If you would like to send me your mailing address with postal code I can tell you what the exact shipping rate will be.
For small skeins of embroidery thread, I am trying to use Canada Post Lettermail to save you money. There is no tracking or insurance available for these items. Please contact me if you would prefer Expedited Parcel with tracking and insurance.

How long will it take to process my order?

Most orders are shipped out within 1 to 3 business days. There may be some delays during the busy holiday season, or occasionally due to illness or unforseen emergencies. Please contact me if you require expedited shipping and/or handling for your order. Expedited Parcel and Express Post are available for an additional fee.

Do you provide tracking services for my order?

Orders shipped by Canada Post Expedited Parcel will have a tracking number.
Items shipped by Canada Post Oversized Lettermail do not have a tracking number.
