About

making the world more beautiful through functional art

Welcome to Shaprink!

Here's a little bit about us. We began as a business in 2007 with the stated purpose of creating unique gifts and functional art. Since then we've sold through local venues, galleries, craft shows, and the Etsy marketplace!

A good portion of our profits goes into charities, missions, and projects that help or encourage people in some way. Two organizations we love - and encourage you to check out! - are World Orphans and Not For Sale. Both are doing great work around the world, bringing hope and changing lives.

Welcome to Shaprink!

At Shaprink, we offer customers "unique gifts" and "functional art."

"Unique gifts" are those one-of-a-kind items you just can't find anywhere else. At Shaprink, we do not mass produce anything. All products are individually handcrafted with no two being identical.

"Functional art" is our term for the contemporary embodiment of the philosophy of William Morris. A key player in the Arts and Crafts Movement of the late 1800's, Morris believed one should "have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." For Shaprink, that means fusing aesthetic appeal and usefulness in all we produce. Each item should be able to serve a particular function and be pleasing to the senses as well.
