It was in 1975 that Sharlene had her first pottery class.
I try to learn something new every day and that's fun for me.
Hopefully what I make will please and be enjoyed for many years to come.

I like teaching old and new methods in workshops , seminars and to small classes in my home studio.
I enjoy playing in paint and clay most every day.

Here is the path where I learned what to do:

Brooks School of Photography Art.

We owned Sieloff Studio Inc.for over forty five years and had over 60 national and state awards for our photography

The next path I learned:

Neguib School of Sclupture , Indiana.
Ed Chesnes Clay Door Studio in Michigan,
(who has made many colossal public sculputres) four years
Sergio DeGuisti, Wayne State University Professor (who made the crusifex for the Pope) three years.

PAINTING at :
Kay Isaacson School of Painting , IA., two years.
Wayne State Univ. one year.
Private lessons with many fine teachers over a 45 year period..

What else have I done??????
My other hobbies include archery.
I have five National Championships and three International Championship titles .
I am listed in Who's Who in American Sports.
I am a member of The Diane Society.
I am featured in Rober Rhode's book Archery Champions.

I have a soft spot for American Girl Scouts as a one time scout leader.

I love horses and was co-owner of Applewood Arabians home of several class A Champions when we had our horse farm in Romeo, Michigan.

Yours truely,
Sharlene Skanes Sieloff

I use stoneware clay that is high fired to 2240 degrees or 2345 degrees and the finished pieces are dishwasher, microwave and oven useable.
