Welcome to Shawnee Vintage, we are glad your here, relax and let yourself be taken to era's of the past.....

Our story begins with with my grandmother, Lanola Fern in the 1930's and 1940's. She filled her home with items from auctions, tag sales and flea markets not because she fancied "vintage" items but out of necessity as money was tight and living through the depression gave new meaning to the word thrifty.

Eighty years later we still have and use most of the pieces she acquired in her lifetime. I grew up with these relics and enjoyed listening to the stories behind how they were acquired and the history of the companies who made them.

This shop was born out of a love that I share with my mother for all things vintage, antique or otherwise unloved because they are "old". I enjoy researching items and learning the history behind the treasures that I find and try to pass that information on to my clients.

We enjoy spending our free time at antique auctions, yard sales and flea markets. When I say enjoy I mean we are like a bloodhound chasing a coon when we are out in treasure hunting mode.

Sometimes I just get a FEELING that I should buy an item and usually thereafter a client will comment that they have been LOOKING all over for that. What's that saying....."When the item is ready ~ the owner will appear."

We strive to make your shopping experience with us like one that we would enjoy and are always looking for items that we can share with you. If there is something special that you are looking for please let us know.

In trying to keep prices reasonable I DO NOT include insurance when I quote shipping.

***PLEASE CONTACT ME PRIOR TO CHECK OUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD INSURANCE TO YOUR ORDER****

If I do not hear from you prior to checkout I will assume you do not want insurance. I over wrap pottery and glass to ensure that it arrives to you in one piece. However without insurance should merchandise arrive damaged I will not be held responsible.

If your order is returned to me due to the shipping address provided by you being incorrect or otherwise unable to be delivered I will email you a picture of the returned box and refund the purchase price less shipping. If you still want the merchandise then you will need to pay for additional shipping as I cannot be held responsible for incorrect addresses.

If your item arrives damaged I will ask that you email me a picture of the box and the broken item so that I have evidence when contacting the USPS claims department. I will then file the appropriate forms and forward a refund once it is issued by the USPS.

In the case of lost parcels, I again will file the appropriate forms & forward a refund once it is issued by USPS.

I ask that international buyers allow extra time for delivery as occasionally, there are customs delays.

As per Canada Post policy, a missing parcel report cannot be filed until 4 weeks after shipping date.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please note vintage pieces usually have some wear and patina for that reason I will do my best to describe all items in detail.

All items are sold as is and non returnable unless the item has been grossly misrepresented by the pictures and description.

If there is a problem please contact me and I will try my best to resolve the issue.

In the event that money is refunded to you because the item has been misrepresented I will refund the purchase price less shipping. An item must be shipped back to me in the condition it was shipped for a refund.

If your item arrives damaged I will ask that you email me a picture of the box and the broken item so that I have evidence when contacting the USPS claims department.

Please email me if you have questions.

I will send additional pictures and information when requested.
Additional policies and FAQs
IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU PURCHASE INSURANCE ON YOUR VINTAGE POTTERY AND GLASS DURING COLD WEATHER MONTHS!

Vintage pottery and glass is at great risk of damage when there is a sudden temperature change. When a piece is shipped it goes from outside temperatures to inside temperatures. If the piece is not allowed to come to the same temperature as the room it can crack and craze. Therefore you should bring your unopened box inside and allow it to sit for a few hours, then open the package and do not unwrap the packing materials until the piece has come to the same temperature as the room.
