About

Hello beautiful people! My name is Candice. I reside in the beautiful wine country, about 40min north of San Francisco. I am happily married going on 5 year this July❤ Between my husband and I, we have SIX kids, ranging from 19 to 3 years old! If you would have told me 15 years ago(the free spirit I was) that I would be a family of 8 by the time I was 31,I would have laughed in your face. But it has truly been a blessing. I was raised here and come from a family of die hard surfers, and with my mother, had being a lifeguard when I was no taller than her knee, it's no wonder I learned to swim at 18mos old, where I became a lifelong water baby. My earliest memories consisted of going to the beach, running naked in the sand while my mom sunbathed and dad surfed, and as soon as I was allowed, he taught me,then followed my 2 younger sisters..And all of us, including dad still surf today. I've always had a true love of the water, nature, and all things living. I trained and became a certified birth/postpartum doula at 22 years old. Then, after an unexpected life change,I found myself a single mom of a 2year old and 10month old boys. Not knowing how I'd survive on my own,I became a full time college student and worked part time. I graduated as a C.M.A in 2006 and began my career as an M.A./Surgical Technician, where during the next 10 years I would work in the fields of Cosmetic surgery,Rheumatology, Orthopedic & Dermatology Surgery, OB/GYN and a fertility practice. I gained an immense amount of knowledge during this time!

Growing up, I was a very creative child. I loved art, dance, singing, performing arts, experimenting and coming up with a variety of homemade creations from tree forts widdled from sticks, choreography for "performances"we would put on for my family.Sewing doll clothes, creating food recipes, and then I discovered my knack for making my own hair, skin, and Cosmetic creations.i used to grab ingredients from my mom's kitchen and whip up a new conditioner for my hair..It smelled awful, but made my hair so soft!😂 That led me to going to the public library (pre-world wide web days) reading and researching different ingredients, plant, and flowers that had medicinal value or that could be used for different purposes. From my childhood to teens I created some hits, and some things I'd care to forget about. Then, when I had my 1st child at 22,and saw how much junk was going into his baby bath,lotions,Etc...That's when I got serious. I made alot of natural chemical free organic products for his soft baby skin. When I became a doula,I concocted my own massage oils, freshening spray, sitz baths, and more for my mommy clients.

Ffwd: to 2015 a new marriage and 2 additional son's later, I was once again working as a scrub tech and one day my hubby&I discovered how much cash we were working out for childcare! That's when I made the decision that changed my life. I stopped working and became a full-time stay-at-home mom. But I knew what I wanted to do to help out with expenses..And with almost 30 years of built up creativity trapped inside me, I finally let it out by starting my little home business, fittingly named,She Sells Sea Shells Skin Essentials. A year prior to this,my hubby and I had our 1st biological child together, and being born 2mos early, spending his 1st month if life in the NICU, He was a fragile little peanut, and I didn't want to take any chances! So I immediately started whipping up batches of diaper rash creams, balms, baby bath&shampoo, natural soap bars, baby powder, and belly butters for my 'mom scars'. So I already had the basic apothecary tools and ingredients in place, and with a little help from my husband,I was able to make my passion a way of putting food on the table. Since I had years of research and experience in aromatherapy, natural skin care, herbs, botanicals, essential oils and their medicinal benefits,I was able to broaden my horizons and create a new range of all natural products such as soy Crystal candles, organic laundry detergent, sacred smudge sticks, one of my "bestsellers" Elderberry Syrup, and much more. In the last 3 years my client base has gone from a few friends and acquaintances to nation wide..And I couldn't be happier! It's because of people like you that my product line keeps expanding and I keep creating. I love hearing new ideas from people. Some of my top selling products are because of customized orders from you guys. I love getting feedback as well. Whether positive or critical, I like to hear them all. That is what helps me to open my mind to other possibilities, learn, and create new amazing apothecaries for you and your family. That's why I do this, and finding natural products shouldn't burn a hole in your pocket either. That's why I will always keep my prices at a reasonable rate. Although my Etsy shop is still somewhat new, I'm in love. The talent from those on this site is incredible! And so are all of you. Thank you for your Continued kindness and support!✌ ~Candice~
