Spreading Happiness with Unique Colorful Weavings……

Top shop for gifts.

Announcement    In addition to my pine needle baskets, I have been using recycled cable and phone wire to create baskets and other goodies.

I am a fiber artist working with natural elements, mainly Longleaf Pine needles in my yurt studio in the mountains East of Eugene, Oregon.

Turning nature into art is a slow and methodical process.

I begin most of my pieces with 6-12 Long Leaf pine needles, wrapping them with Irish waxed linen, to create a spiral shape. It is the ancient technique of coiling, and is a very slow process.

Because I love color and textures, I add beads, wire, ribbons, wine foil (yes from a wine bottles), and whatever else catches my eye.
I make baskets, pendants, wall hangings, hand bags, and shadow boxes, pendants and floor mats. The common thread through all of my art is a touch of whimsy.

All of my art is one of a kind and unique and made with attention to detail. I do custom commissions.

I gift wrap when requested and always include a Long Leaf pine needles to show you how it all began.

About Sheripineneedle

My inspiration combines coiled pine needles with mixed fibers into sculptural and wearable art pieces. Nature = Art

I have been working with fibers since the early 80's while living at Belknap Hot Springs, on the McKenzie River in Oregon.

We lived in a private setting with the only access being a cable car over the rushing river, and a private hot springs out our front door. The perfect setting to mix nature and art.

Coiling mainly with pine needles, I have taken that path from more traditional weaving to sculptural pieces, incorporating mixed fibers, wire, stones, beads, and ironwood needles into my art.

After the historic Holiday Farm Resort burned to the ground in 2011, where I had worked for more than a decade, all of my art inside, my path was clear.

Focusing on fiber art and instructor has been a path of inner strength, and clarity as I coil one row after another.

I am a member of the National Basketry Organization. You can see more of my art there at

I started coiling pine needle baskets in 1983 living on the McKenzie River in Oregon. My pieces reflect the tranquility that surrounds me. Pine needles, fibers, wire, gem stones & hand blown glass are combined to create my heart to my art.
