Mis primeros recuerdos de costura y manualidades son de cuando tenía cinco o seis años y mi abuela ponía una mesa en su sala donde mi hermana y yo creábamos sin parar. Trabajaba en un lugar llamado Palette Party Shop, la tienda de manualidades de los sesenta. Traía a casa cuentas, alfileres, poliestireno, fieltro, pegamento... ¡de todo!
Fue por esa época que mi mamá empezó a dedicarse a la costura en serio. Me guardaba sus retazos y yo hacía cosas divertidas como bolsos, almohadas y ropa de Barbie. De pequeña, Barbie no tenía todas las cosas que tiene ahora; solo tenía ropa y zapatos. ¡Mi Barbie no, tenía la casa más bonita del mundo! Le hacía la cama, el sofá, las cortinas, las mesas, etc.
Obviamente, han pasado muchas cosas desde mi infancia en los sesenta hasta hoy. Muchos de mis patrones se han publicado en numerosos libros y revistas, y están disponibles aquí y en internet. No puedo dejar de diseñar, y no pienso hacerlo pronto.

My earliest memories of sewing and crafting was when I was five or six and my grandma would put up a table in her living room where my sister and I would create forever. She worked at a place called the Palette Party Shop, it was the craft store of the sixties. She would bring home beads, pins, styrofoam, felt, glue, you name it!
It was about that time that my mom started doing some serious sewing. She'd save me her scraps and I made fun things like purses, pillows, and Barbie clothes. Back when I was growing up Barbie didn't have all the stuff she has now, all she had was clothes and shoes. Not my Barbie, she had the best house ever! I made her bed, couch, curtains, tables, etc.
Obviously, a lot has happened between my childhood in the sixties and today. Many of my patterns have been published in numerous books and magazines, as well as available to you here and all over the Internet. I just can't stop designing, and I don't plan on it anytime soon.
