About

Former middle school teacher and brave girl turned jeweler.

verge: [verj]
NOUN
an edge or border

To be just past the verge means thinking outside the box, expanding the boundaries of one's mind, and pushing past our self-imposed limits.

Mostly self-taught jewelry artist and metalsmith, thanks to the wonders of the internet, a stack of books and the visions whirling in my head. My one true love is knowledge and using it to create something new. I love working with metal and stones and found objects. I'm obsessed with line, color and proportion and I believe quality is the most important aspect of my work, with the end product being wearable art. All the better if the piece has some symbolic meaning for the wearer.

My home studio consists of a workshop in what used to be my garage, and a boutique where my finished art is displayed and sold locally.

I'm always expanding my skills and I hope that never ends. So many projects, so little time.

Stay tuned . . . this should be good!

My work is the product of my mind's eye. I create in my home studio which is part gallery, part laboratory and part cozy nest. I love creating things that have symbolic meaning for the people who will wear my work.

Frequently asked questions

Sizing details

I am always available to help determine your size. I do not accept returns or exchanges for wrong size, so please do not guess. For bracelets and necklaces use the overall length of something you currently own; measure the interior diameter of a bangle you currently own that fits well. For rings I recommend purchasing this inexpensive and accurate ring sizer, which includes a free shipping coupon for when you place your ring order: https://www.etsy.com/listing/250073455/multisizer-ring-sizing-tool-us-size

Custom and personalized orders

Custom orders are welcome and one of my favorite things to create. I won't create copies of other artists' work, so please don't ask. I reserve the right to decline any custom request for any reason prior to payment being received. Please keep in mind that these take more time and creative energy, and are priced accordingly.

Personalized items are those that already exist in my shop which have names, dates, symbols, quotes, bible verses, etc. added to them.

Custom or personalized items may not be returned or exchanged.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All items arrive wrapped and ready to gift.

Care instructions

Sterling silver: chlorinated water and saltwater turns silver black, as does heat and humidity over time. Store sterling jewelry in a sealed container with anti-tarnish strips when not being worn.

Copper, brass bronze: all will oxidize with exposure to air and body chemistry and will deposit either green or black on the skin. With time and wear they form a patina, called a skin, and will discolor the skin minimally if at all. If this bothers you I recommend Renaissance wax.

Turquoise, pearls, MOP and other soft stones: NEVER in an ultrasonic cleaner, avoid soap, lotion, perfumes, makeup, hairspray, etc. No heavy work or rock climbing while wearing them.

Common sense should be employed when wearing any jewelry.

Wholesale availability

I am open to wholesale orders for brick and mortar stores only. Please contact me for more information.
