Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalised orders

I mostly deal in custom orders, after all heraldry is unique to the individual. Please contact me to discuss.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Most of my general items I send out in recycled packaging as it is better for the environment. If you want specific gift packaging or messages there will usually be an extra cost to account for the materials and extra postage weight. For large items like shields is is basically impossible to gift wrap them, thus I cannot offer this.

What are your production and shipping times?

For items that I have in stock, production and shipping will be a matter of a few days - often far faster than shown in the listings. For individual and custom pieces, production will be at least a couple of weeks - simply because that is how long it takes for the various glues and paints to dry or for the items to be hand stitched. Your custom piece is also unlikely to be the only item in production. I run a strict works schedule, each item in order. Shipping is out of my control, but will be selected to be fast, secure with full tracking, Usually this means a Royal Mail service for UK to UK addresses or Parcel Force for international shipping.

Explain your shipping costs

Many of my items are large and heavy - sometimes well over 1m in length and up to 15kg in weight. This means that shipping costs are significant. Generally in excess of £100 for faster and tracked postage or for almost anything going out of the UK where I am based. Shipping costs are also affected by tariffs such as those introduce by the USA, where I now have to ship even the smallest or cheapest items with full tracking and DDP.
I am fully prepared to refund excess P&P costs if it turns out I have over charged.

Why do you not sell to my country / the EU / NI?

I am a Sole Trader based in the UK and following Brexit I have found am unable to keep up with all the resulting legal requirements. Most significantly the costs and paperwork associated with GPSR are prohibitive for small businesses selling unique individual products like mine. I am very sad that I can no longer sell to my friends, customers and clients in EU nations and NI.
