Unbelievable inventory. Kind working relationship. Check out the work they are doing for Japan survivors.

About

Shippodo: A Mission to Save the Hanging Scroll

The founder, Ryosuke Ueda began his career specializing in Japanese hanging scrolls from one idea. What to put on the wall that is original, unique, and aesthetically pleasing. A friend who had Chinese hanging scrolls on her wall captivated Ryosuke and remembered a time when his grandfather had a scroll on the alcove of a traditional Japanese home and the search for hanging scrolls began in 2002. Over time, after gaining experience from buying, collecting, and taking a course in Asian art history at UC Riverside, Ryosuke felt it was important that the authentic style and impressions found in Japanese art should be shared with the world and the mission began from dealing in hanging scrolls and tea ware to independent evaluations. Now Ryosuke is trying to gain more insight of Japanese art by applying to graduate school (I hope to achieve this!) and getting a license in appraisals to help more people to know more about the Japanese artwork they own and educate more people about its appeal.
