Inks are not as bright as pictured, unfortunately. They are far more faded and the red is more like orange. The item you received is not as pictured.

About Shipwright & Co.

Shipwright & Co. is comprised of two old friends, Jenny Kruch and Jessie Alberts, who share a love of art, design, coffee, food, and of course, beautiful letterpress printing. When a letterpress (specifically a new-style Chandler and Price circa 1911) came our way in January of 2013, Shipwright & Co. was born. A month or so later we added a Challenge brand manual guillotine paper cutter, another antique piece of equipment that was built to last (and excel) for quite a few lifetimes.

Our workshop is housed in a small garage in an especially lovely part of Napa, California. Surrounded by such beauty, we are especially mindful of being environmentally conscious in our print shop. We use vegetable oil and other natural products to clean our press, and use 100% cotton, tree-free paper. The cotton used to make our paper is a by-product of the cotton industry and recognized by the EPA as a recovered fiber.

A Note About Custom Work:

Our favorite projects are those which give us the opportunity to pair with clients to create original, custom designs. We would love to take your creative visions and turn them into beautifully printed letterpress illustrations and graphics.

Pricing can vary widely depending on the kind of project, the size of the prints, the colors, and the kind of paper. Letterpress is a beautiful method of printing one-of-a-kind invitations, cards, or stationery. It is also an artisan process which requires attention to detail, love, and many steps.

Our base fee for printing is $150. We use photopolymer plates for printing which are wonderful for custom graphic work. The price generally includes the cost of your photopolymer plate and press set-up. There is an additional per-print cost (which varies depending on your project and the size of your prints). The set-up cost does not include design fees for custom work. Please contact us for pricing and ideas on your project. We would love to chat with you!
