Useful. Unique. Upcycled.

up·cy·cle (v.) — reuse in such a way as to create a product of a higher quality or value than the original

In 2014, I handcrafted my first bottlecap magnets for a one-day fundraiser; I never thought I would still be selling them four years later.

Soon, I couldn't stop recycling, reshuffling, remaking. My passion for creating handmade wares morphed into a small business. At 15 years old, I launched this shop, selling my eco-friendly magnets in whimsical sets. All images within the bottlecaps come from repurposed magazines and catalogues, which inspired the name "Upcycled."

In my spare time, you'll likely find me with a stack of magazines, scissors, and caps. My favorite part of the crafting process: scavenging tens of catalogues for each unique image; no two magnets are alike.

To me, the word "upcycled" implies an upward reclamation. Bottlecaps are built for cheap bottles. Magazines are read once and tossed in the trash. But creativity springs something sturdier, something better, even beautiful, from the mess. Upcycling is the art of metamorphosis, of making new, of changing form and function. I hope my wares help renew your home or workspace, too.

Cheers,
Rachel
