Our business on Etsy really was unexpected, in fact, it was not even something we considered when 2020 started.

Like most people in this world, we're just ordinary people doing what's needed to get by. My team and I all had a day job, and I provide permanent makeup services on the side as that's what I enjoyed.

Then, 2020 hit and the world could not have become more strange. I'll be frank, seeing all the turmoil in the news every day is depressing. But more importantly, I needed to survive and provide for my family. As furloughs, layoffs, and business closures hit, I was impacted as well. My day job was no longer there, and my permanent makeup side job was not allowed.

I needed to do something, and I needed to do it fast. It is under this strange circumstance that ShopZakka was born. I had the time, my team and I had the skills. So why not put our talents together to try to make a living? After all, this is America, we're Americans, and the last time I checked we're still allowed to work for our dreams!

So why ShopZakka? "Zakka" is a term from Japan that means "anything and everything" that improves one's home, life, or appearance. And in that vein, it is my hope that items from our store will do just that!
