Passion For Beach Glass Leads to ShoreLine Secret Creations

I am blessed to live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada and have beautiful beaches to explore.
I started collection beach glass and pottery many years ago and I have always dreamed of making jewelry one day.
I have now expanded my jewelry making to include beach agates and stones.
My husband is also helping with the beach searches and he is tumbling some of the agates and stones to give them a polish.

I retired from my nursing career early in 2013 and attempted to make a few jewelry items but I found I didn't really know what I was doing.
Then I was invited by some former colleagues to join the Nightingale Crafters and was encouraged to join Etsy.
The Nightingale group is a big support for me and I started to learn more about beach glass wire wrapping and what materials I should be using and then when I learned how to drill a hole in a glass or pottery piece I haven't stopped.

I was very excited when I have my first sale. I have learn so much in the last six months about my creative side. I learned early on though that I need to let the individual glass or pottery pieces dictate how they are going to be wrapped, or if a hole needs to be drilled or even if a piece is suitable for jewelry.

My many walks exploring the local beaches provides me with time with family and friends, exercise, opportunities to collect beach glass and potter, photography of beautiful scenes and a chance to remove garbage from our ocean shores.

I truly enjoy making the Jewelry Creations and I hope that purchasers will enjoy wearing them.

Enjoy the Sea Breezes and ShoreLine Secrets.

Welcome to my shop. ShoreLine Secrets is about creating unique jewelry pieces from eco friendly material. The shorelines of the worlds oceans and lakes transform glass and pottery into amazing gems.
It does seem unfortunate that something that we have to throw something into our waterways for it to become useful.
Over time beach glass and pottery will become less available because of communities embracing recycling. I am just fine with that.
But in the mean time the glass and pottery that I find will be handcrafted into unique jewelry treasures.
Along my beach travels my husband and I have found many amazing beach stones and rocks. Some are agates, quartz, sandstone and lots I still to learn what they are.
I am now making jewelry with all these new finds.

I am having a great time finding and making beach glass, pottery, stones and rocks into jewelry.
