About

This is just the beginning.

SLG is a unique glass art and design studio run by glass artist Steve Leetch. I began working with Steve as his assistant in Nov 2011 learning the basics of glass cutting, cold-working and fusing, quickly falling in love with glass (and him...) By February we decided to make the leap and begin a collaboration in life and in work. I moved in and we began our work building a new component of SLG, Short Line Glass Jewelry.

Steve’s 20 plus years of experience and continual drive to push the limits of glass lays the foundation for my jewelry designs, which I'd like to think are distinctly striking while maintaining a playful femininity. Each SLG piece is meticulously crafted in our home studio located off the shores of Lake Erie near Cleveland Ohio. We like good stuff and know you do to! So we use only the highest quality glass (made in America) guaranteeing both radiance and durability. I make the majority of my pieces using the remnant glass from Steve's larger projects and when that's not possible we support our local glass supplier.

Our jewelry making process is fairly unusual in glass jewelry. Rather than lamp-working beads or individually fusing pendants I design large plates or tiles that are fused and later processed and cold-worked into elegantly shaped flat-edged pieces. After the glass is processed I either up-cycle flea market finds or use sterling silver chains, wire and findings to complete the piece. Our goal is to make you feel beautifully unique when you wear our jewelry, in all your wonderfully creative, quirky, distinct, and drop-dead-gorgeous ways. Because of this all our jewelry is either one of a kind or made in small batches. You can be assured that when you wear SLG Jewelry no one else on the planet has the exact same piece!

When we're not in the studio we still like keeping our hands busy fixing and riding bikes, making homemade beer, gardening or dabbling in home improvement projects.

Thanks so much for taking a look at our shop, hope you enjoy!
