Announcement    My next update will be sometime in 2020! Thanks so much for all the support in 2019!

Handcrafted pottery pieces that pair modern design with traditional form. Everything you see here is made personally by me. I formulate and mix all my glazes. I throw the pots on the wheel, trim, glaze, and sign each piece.

Many of my glazes are fluid, creating interesting glaze runs and patterns. They are consistent runs, but they are all slightly unique, thus ensuring the individuality of each piece. and is completely unique and original.

Functional pottery that pairs modern design with traditional form.

    Welcome to my Etsy shop!

My name is Steven Showalter and all items are handmade by me, I have no employees or apprentices. I formulate and mix all my glazes. I throw the pots on the wheel, trim, glaze and sign each piece. I've been teaching and making pottery for the past 17 years. I officially began Steven Showalter Pottery 8 years ago and have primarily marketed my work during that time at art fairs, stores and galleries.

While I have been on Etsy for many years I'm newly committed to selling work online in large part because of the many requests I've received through social media on Instagram and Facebook. I've been fortunate to find many successful sales venues nearby, but also excited to re-explore the online marketplace.

What sets me a part from my talented peers? I hope you'll find that my glazes and craftsmanship are of an exceptionally high quality. I don't cut any corners and I take the time and effort required to create pottery that will last and be enjoyed for many years.

    Frequently asked questions
    Care instructions

My functional stoneware pottery can withstand normal everyday use. My pottery is lead-free, and is food, oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe.

All ceramics can be affected by sudden changes in temperature. Here are a few recommendations:

    - Warm pottery under running hot water before placing in oven.
    - Do not put cold foods into a preheated or hot to the touch stoneware pot.
    - To wash your stoneware right after cooking, use hot water. Do not pour cold water into a hot stoneware pot.

    Gift wrapping and packaging

When sending a gift, please make sure that you put the address to where you want the item shipped when you pay for it. If you would like a special "card" that says it comes from you simply email me a message and I can print it out and put it in with the order.
