Growing up, my grandmother and great aunts were always decked out in jewelry. They had great style and I always enjoyed rummaging through their jewelry boxes. I inherited a great deal of those beads and earrings, and although there were many pieces that I wore and continue to wear, there was a great deal that I boxed up. I moved those boxes from drawer to drawer never wanting to get rid of them, but not knowing what to do with them. One day I had the courage to break apart one of those beaded necklaces and that is how I began to use vintage parts to make new earrings. It brings me great joy to re-purpose something that was just existing in a box and bring it back to life!
