About

Hot Wax & Faded Memories.

Remember that dusty old photo album filled with all your life's memories? It's probably hiding under your bed or in a closet somewhere, safe from the dangers of coffee table spills and oily fingertips, but the images have lost their sentiment and are forgotten.

I was the same. I am a pack rat when it comes to photographs. I have saved everything I have taken since I was 15 in the hopes that someday I could do something spectacular with it all. The good, the bad, the ugly, all saved. And yet, I threw them in a box or a photo album, and left them hiding in the closet for years.

My memories faded and the stories changed but those pictures remained the same and when I decided I wanted to put some real art on my walls, I went searching for the perfect medium that would compliment my photographs and get them out of that box or album and on my walls where they should be. I crossed paths with encaustics and fell in love.

It is now my passion to make your forgotten photos significant again and I turn them into unique pieces of art just for you. It is time to get that photo album out of the closet and remember all those special moments all over again.

I dare you.

Shipping
Just Prints:
They will be shipped within 7 business days of receiving payment.

Encaustic Shipping:
Since the encaustic piece you see online is the piece you will receive, shipping times are within 48 hours of the day purchased unless otherwise stated on the page, in the announcement section, or via email. This does not include Customized pieces which require 2 to 4 weeks before they will be shipped. All encaustic items will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail and you will receive a valid tracking number once the order is shipped. If you require faster shipping, you can provide a FEDEX or UPS account number and I will be happy to honor any request you might have. I do not make a profit off of the shipping so a FEDEX or UPS account number is required in order to receive faster, safer, shipping other than USPS Priority Mail.

Shipping in the US typically takes 3 to 5 business days and Shipping International can take from 5 to 15 business days.

Refunds and Exchanges
Buying online can be an interesting venture. I hope that you love the piece you purchase from me, but if for any reason you are not satisfied with it within the first 7 days of owning it, you will be able to return the item and receive a refund for the purchase price. Just pay for shipping and handling fees.

If the item is damaged upon arrival, please notify me and I will be happy to replace it once the damaged item is returned.

For all other issues, please contact me directly and I will be happy to work with you to get what you need.
Additional policies and FAQs
Just Prints:
All photos are printed by either myself or a professional film processor at the highest quality. I do trim to the exact size specified and sizes are stated on each listing but if you require a specific size, or would like me to add a boarder for framing, please contact me directly to get special pricing information. Please do not mount within direct sunlight as this may fade the image over time.

Encaustics:
All wax pieces are one of a kind pieces and are made with natural and filtered beeswax mixed with damar resin so there may be natural dust, pollen, fibers, bark, etc, in the wax. This is normal and part of the overall look and feel of the piece. Please do not mount near a fire place, or within direct sunlight as strong heat will damage the piece over time. Encaustics can be buffed to a nice shine and require occasional buffing to remove dust. This can be done with a lint free, nylon towel. Test a corner of the piece before wiping completely to be sure no lint catches in the wax.

Plywerk Framed Photos:
Some info about Plywerk frames from Plywerk.com

Plywerk panel frames are sustainably grown and harvested bamboo panels with a keyhole slot on the back for easy hanging. The bamboo panel is 3/4" carbonized vertical grain bamboo. There may be a few natural divots in the wood, but this is natural.

The print is considered a Lustre, Fuji Crystal Archive Paper / Kodak Endura Paper. It is not quite matte and not quite glossy. Lustre (also referred to as Satin) has excellent color saturation without the "sheen" that can be a hindrance in glossy print finishes.

Transparent PH neutral adhesive protects the images from the natural acids in the wood and provides an extremely reliable bond between the images and the Plywerk panel.

What you see is what you get:
I may sell the same image in a new wax piece but please note that I will always update the images for each encaustic item to reflect the true pieces sold so there is no question that what you see online is what you get.

Online Pictures and the Real World:
Because different laptops have different screen qualities, the colors you see online may be brighter or darker than the actual piece but I try my best to get as true a color as possible for you to view.

Customizable Pieces:
You can request a customizable piece of your favorite image that will be mounted on a wood frame and painted with encaustic wax medium to create a glowing effect. I will even add a pattern to the sides or leave them clean white, you choose!

Suggested Photos to use:
**Your Wedding Pictures
**Bridal Shower Pictures
**New Born Pictures
**Family & Friends Pictures
***Or just enhance your favorite fine art photos!

1. Make sure you know the size you want your piece to be before you order any of the suggested sizes in the shop.
2. Once you order, you will receive an email from me with step by step instructions on what I will need from you to fulfill your order. (I require at least 2 physical images of the photo you want waxed at the proper size OR a HIGH resolution image can be emailed to me)
3. I send you a digital proof of how I will crop the image to fit the size, the patterns to choose from for the sides, and any special requests.
4. Once the proof is approved, I GET TO WORK!
5. Because I want to make sure you get EXACTLY what you want, please allow 2 to 4 weeks from time of purchase to date shipped.

This is a great gift idea for friends and loved ones and a great way to enhance the photos you really love!

Don't see the size you want or have a different request and feel I am up for the job? Convo me and I will be happy to get you a specific quote for what you have in mind.
