Announcement   New inventory production will be slow until further notice due to family medical emergency. We will be back into it as soon as possible. Orders of current items and custom orders are still welcome.

Custom color orders are always welcome. Colorways are as unique as the person designing them, its almost limitless. If you have a color you want to match, I have allot of options using natural colored fibers and/or Gaywool dyes. Just send me a conversation preferably with a photo of your color you hope to match and I'll let you know if I can do it.

If you'd like your yarn purchase from us to be in a center-pull ball, please be sure to send us a note. We're happy to do this at no additional charge.

In case you are wondering, we here at Sierra Wools are concerned about the environment. In fact, Barbara's undergraduate degree is Environmental Studies and taught high school Earth Systems Sciences for many years. With this in mind, we've chosen acid-dyes that are earth friendly, no caustic mordants, 98% of our packaging and shipping materials are either recycled paper products or re-purposed shipping boxes and padded envelopes, and we are always on the lookout for additional ways to reduce our carbon footprint and thus our energy needs as well. I hope this helps to reduce your concerns about disposal or re-use of our packaging. - Staff at Sierra Wools

About

A Lifetime of Fiber Fanatiscism

Barbara has spent most of her life interested in sheep, wool and fiber. Having lamb projects in FFA for high school started things, and as she matured, raising a family of her own recognized the value of natural fibers and handmade items. She cross bred Corriedale x Lincoln x Romney wool sheep for many years, and started a wool processing business to extend her skills in processing to others. Like most fiber enthusiasts she has spent more time creating scarves, hats, socks, gloves, sweaters, vests and other usable items for family and friends, and less time cleaning house and doing the laundry. She has experience weaving, felting, knitting, crocheting and other fiber related activities.
