Very cute! However, the earring doesn’t stay in place. I had to keep flipping it back into the conch of my ear.

About
Sigal F Jewelry... My story :)
Designing and crafting jewelry was always one of my childhood dreams...
I started learning to make jewelry 16 years ago.
For a long time I was designing my jewelry in the evenings after a long day at work as a senior internal auditor in an accountancy firm. Finally I decided to quit my day job and focus on my true passion - making handmade jewelry.
I work in my home studio, that is also our laundry room. The washing machine and dryer keep me company while I'm creating :-)
My work is all handmade. I love working with materials such as gold, sterling silver, fine silver and I also combine all kinds of gemstones (precious and semi precious).
I love making simple and unique jewelry in limited editions.
I live in a small village located in the beautiful Galilee hills of northern Israel. The green fields, wide open spaces, and the hills overlooking the Sea of Galilee are what inspire me most.
Thanks for visiting my shop - I really hope you enjoy my jewelry! And please, feel free to contact me with any questions or feedback.
See you around!

What is sterling silver?
Sterling silver consists of 92.5 % pure silver and the rest is other metals, typically copper.
Pure silver is too soft and weak to make jewelry and therefore, other metals (7.5%) are added to improve to the quality.
How do I clean my jewelry?
To clean silver jewelry, use a soft polishing sterling silver cloth (you can purchase in every jewelry shop). Don’t use polishing cloth on an oxidized texture, as it will wear off.
For stone set jewelry, you can leave your jewelry to soak in a bowl of warm water with a mild liquid detergent before cleaning with a soft bristle toothbrush. Rinse under running water and use a soft cloth to dry the piece. This also applies to gold and platinum jewelry.
How do I clean an oxidized (black tinge) sterling silver jewelry?
925 silver oxidizes when it is exposed to air, this is the main reason why silver jewelry tarnishes over time.
1. A sterling silver cleaning cloth can be a good solution, if the oxidation is not too bad.
2. Any silver cleaning paste/liquid will also clean the oxidation.
3. Baking soda, aluminum foil and boiled water - can do magic with sterling. Here are two short videos that demonstrate how it works. (It is not recommended to do if the oxidation is part of the texture/ design of the jewelry as it will come off) :

How do I keep a matte texture from tarnish?
Jewelry with a matte finish (especially rings) may take on a polished appearance over time. Matte finish doesn’t stay forever. To restore the matte finish - take a new ScotchBrite (the green coarse kitchen sponge) and rub over the surface of the ring. It will bring back a matte finish. It might also cover (obscure) scratches if they are not deep. (For jewelry with stones - (Please note: ScotchBrite can be damaging to softer stones, so it is advisable to protect the stones by covering them with cellophane tape prior to buffing.)
How do I keep oxidized jewelry from losing its oxidation?
Oxidation tends to fade over time. For re-oxidizing you may use bleach (yap!) deep the silver part of the jewelry in bleach for few minutes or for an hour.
Another home method – is using boiled eggs (!!!) as explained in this short video: http://jewelrymakingjournal.com/how-to-oxidize-sterling-silver-and-copper-with-boiled-eggs/
You can also buy the special oxidation liquid (Liver of sulfur) . Beware! It smells like rotten eggs (because of the sulfur). Please use caution when using it! Read the instructions carefully !!!

How do I keep a hammered oxidized texture from fading?
Please refer to “How do I keep oxidized jewelry from losing its oxidation? “
After restoring the oxidation, you can use ScotchBrite to reveal the hammered texture. Just slide the jewel slightly on the ScotchBrite, make sure you use minimal strength.
