Absolutely gorgeous! The hand painted leaves are exquisite and beautiful. I bought this as a gift and I know my friend will love it. I was so pleased to get regular updates from Takuyo on the process as she painted the scarf. It arrived in a lovely box with care instructions. I was so delighted that I bought a scarf (koi) for myself. Beautiful work!

About

Vibrant portrait of nature on silk

I hand paint my silk scarves, one at a time everyday. Silk is pure luxury. When my brush touches silk, I feel like I am connecting with someone I haven't met yet. I am passionate about wearable art.

It's so rewarding when my art adorns, and truly makes its owner feel special. When my clients tell me how much they love their scarves, it's pure Aloha.

My art studio on Kauai is surrounded by luscious, vibrant nature all year round. When it rains in Kauai, we all expect to see rainbows. I have forever been drawn to flowers and love painting them. Hawaii's nature is simply gorgeous. I can't stop painting on silk everyday.

I am Japanese, was educated as a Japanese artist, and worked with some of the best American graphic designers in NYC. Now, as an artist, the reductive aesthetics of my Japanese heritage and my American graphic design training play counterpoint to the exotic natural beauty of Kauai.

Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

Suggested care instruction for hand painted silk scarves:

Wash gently in cold water with a drop of natural soap. Rinse throughly. To dry: use a clean puffy bath towel, put the scarf in between the towel and gently pat dry. Hand dry in shade, not under the bright sun. If you want to iron, have a thin cotton (like a bed sheet) on top of the scarf, iron in medium to low setting.

Please keep the scarf away from chlorine, clorox and alcohol.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Every scarf will be gift packaged at no cost to customers.

(wholesale order will not be gift packaged)
