My Floral Arrangements Bring Joy to Others
I began my silk floral design business in June of 2011 after giving several arrangements to friends and family as gifts. I opened my Etsy shop in 2012 and have not looked back since. I went from selling single arrangements to designing arrangements for bridal showers, weddings and other events. I love making floral arrangements because it is my art medium, but also because it brings great joy to others.
My primary inspiration is creating beauty. I think my arrangements make others happy. I love being on Etsy. It makes marketing so much fun and I love supporting others. Mostly, I love admiring all of the beautiful items my fellow Etsians create!... One day, about three years ago, I saw a cornucopia basket in a thrift shop. I purchased it for one dollar, thinking I would do something with it for Thanksgiving which was to be at my house that year. I made a huge silk cornucopia centerpiece which everyone loved. I decided that it would be nice to design Christmas decorations for my own home that year. Next thing I knew, I was giving arrangements away as gifts.
I have loved every minute of being on Etsy. There are so many ways to market and connect with others. After almost two years, I can truly say that I am making headway in establishing myself in the Etsy community. Being part of the EtsyNJ team has also been a wonderful experience. I had the opportunity to participate in the first annual Fall Arts Festival in Woodbury, NJ in 2012 where I actually got to meet and connect with other Etsy artists in person!
I love being an artist and creating beautiful one-of-a-kind designs that make people happy. I am thrilled to know that my designs are in homes all over the country and in Canada!Having an Etsy shop and participating in the Etsy community inspires my creativity and motivates me to up my game every day.
I recently left my full-time job to go to school for fresh floral design and graduated in December with a Professional Floral Designer certificationfrom the FlowerSchool New York. It was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. I plan to open my own floral shop in 2015.
