I create each wearable art piece with you in mind.
I am a Fine Art Silk Painter. I paint vivid and vibrant patterns a little reminiscent of stained-glass or an impressionist painting, but my style represents an ethereal and dreamy bliss of our natural world, with its changing seasons and brilliant gardens.
I studied Art Therapy in college, a time that opened my heart and mind to the possibilities of making my career as an artist. I ultimately earned my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration at Humboldt State University. While completing my business degree, I also took courses in drawing and painting. Excelling both academically, and in the arts with acrylic, oil and watercolor, it was when I took a class within the community that I fell in love with silk painting.
I found my “true art passion” when I discovered silk painting. I continue to find inspiration studying color and light while
on garden walks, during trips to the nursery, in Botany classes and while reading.
I earned my Master Silk Painting status from Silk Painters International (SPIN). My work has been shown in several domestic exhibitions, fashion shows, north coast art galleries and has been exhibited in Santa Fe, NM; Cincinnati, OH; San Diego, CA; and Humboldt County, CA. My painting “Swan Song” won “Floral Artist of the Year” Award with ADC. I am currently working in Textile Fashion Design, bringing my paintings to life on Wearable Art. The Wearable Art can be purchased at the National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian website and many more boutiques across the United States.
I reside in Northern California with my husband and two children. When
I'm not painting in my studio, I travel to teach Silk Painting Workshops,
and enjoy Yosemite Artist in Residence Program.
