I've been working for myself making silver jewelry all my adult life. I am self-taught, came out west with 3 pairs of pliars and some wire. Now I have a wonderful studio and lots more tools!

Working with metal grounds me. Transforming organic objects into precious metal connects me with nature. Wandering through the woods or along the seashore, some little seed pod or seaweed will catch my eye and I will take it home and try to cast it. Some things work, others get thrown back into the melting pot and recycled. Everything in my shop is completely handmade by me. I do all my own casting, most of it one-of-a-kind.

Some of the plants I work with are seasonal, like fiddlehead ferns. I need to pay attention to the seasons and return to the place I found them last year, at the same time of year.

My jewelry designs are often inspired by nature, but I also love to fabricate with silver and gold wire. Much to my surprise, my minimalist hammered gold and silver hoop earrings have become one of the most popular items in my Etsy shop, as well as my Ouroboros snake hoops and ear climber earrings that go up the ear.

If I'm not at the jewelry bench you may find me making kelp baskets, mixed media collages of pressed seaweed or taking photographs of nature.
