For me, Silver Grain Studios is a culmination of my life's work. I'm inspired by the simple design details in often overlooked objects; the small things that allow you to create something bigger than yourself, like carpentry tools. I see incredible potential in the curve of an S-wrench, the claw of a hammer, or the spokes of a gear.

Seeing a book of Frank Lloyd Wright's designs as a 12 year old, I became enamored with architecture. After studying Architecture at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, I wanted more than to just become a master draftsman who watched others bring my designs to life.
I began my career in NYC as an Assistant Project Manager for a high-end residential General Contractor, where I learned the nuts and bolts of what it takes to successfully complete a build. Since that experience, I have studied carpentry, sculpture, painting, welding, and various other forms of fabrication. The multitude of skills learned in these trades are a part of what informs my current work.

The culmination of these experiences has shaped and defined who I am today. In my home, you'll see tools, gears and sprockets displayed as art. Lacking jewelry that shows who I am, I took a class in precious metal clays to learn how to make my own... and now, I have turned my new passion into
Silver Grain Studios.
