how it all began...
once upon a time, there was a young girl who found great pleasure in all things expressive and creative. she enjoyed drawing and painting and sewing. then one day she accidentally discovered beading and realized she had found something she could really love. she made jewelry for everyone she knew. as chance would have it, in high school she ended up taking a year long silver-smithing class at the local community college. she immediately entered into a life long love affair with the shapes and forms and magnitude and POSSIBILITY of this amazing new medium. she had found her passion! she vowed to make a living making jewelry.
as things happen, she was persuaded to take the more conventional road and went to college to become a teacher. the necessary equipment to get started silver-smithing was just too costly so the dream remained elusive. she continued to appease her passion by making beaded jewelry, but always, in her heart, she longed for the silver.
she got married to a wonderful man and moved to a small town to begin her teaching career. she continued to love beading and made a little money on the side selling her work. after 4 years of teaching, she had a baby. she realized her career priorities had changed and she wanted nothing more than to be at home with her. she decided to get serious about making her dream come true.
after a lot of deliberate intention, it all came together. an extremely generous man gave her most of the tools she needed and wouldn’t accept payment. a dear friend loaned her a torch. a neighbor who just happened to be a former silver-smithing instructor offered to give her lessons in exchange for a set of custom bridesmaids’ jewelry. and so it began…
now she stays at home with her three daughters, hazel, june, and dorothy, and makes a living selling her jewelry full-time. she uses traditional silversmithing techniques and incorporates stone and artisan glass cabochons into her work.

Shop policies
a note about my work: perfectionism has no place in my life. in my work you may find "imperfections" such as seam lines, visible solder, etc. i take pride in the "handmade-ness" of my work and do not strive to create pieces that look as though they were made in a factory. however, if you seek "perfection", my work may not be for you. i can, of course, guarantee that each piece is sturdy and strong and made to last a lifetime!
my turnaround time for "made to order" items right now is 4-6 weeks. please let me know if you are in a hurry and I will see what I can do! "ready to ship" items ship within 3 days.
